I’ve been using Blockbuster Online for a while now, the one where you get 3 out at a time.
I didn’t see any difference between it and Netflix until just recently, when in my opinion Blockbuster pulled way ahead. They recently changed their policy so now you can take any of the movies you get in the mail and return them at the store. Each movie envelope you bring back acts as a free in store rental, so you can have a ton of movies out at a time. Plus they scan the movie envelope and your next selection from your online queue ships out the next day. In addition to all all that they still give you coupons each month for free in store rentals as well, and since when I signed up they were good go movies or games I can still get 2 free games a month (they no longer offer games for new accounts, but old accounts get grandfathered in).
i like the fact that every 3 i get in the mail thats 2free in store…so when i go back and give BB my 3 internet ones to mail out for me(cant do that with netflix) i get 3 in store movies and then two online movies. So basically i get 5 @ a time out
I use to be netflix… but I like the whole bring one back to the store, rent one from the store, and a movie gets mailed to you… Me likey… Just so I understand…
Get movie in mail
Return movie to store
Rent movie from store
Movie gets mailed to you
movie comes in the mail (now you have 2 movies)
or does the next movie drop in the mail once you return the movie from the store (Between steps 3 and 4)
i might look at bb now, ive been using netflix for awhile and have been fairly happy with it. only thing is i burn, err, watch them faster than they send them.
The only catch with the movies you get from the store is they have a due date, unlike the ones you get in the mail that you can keep as long as you want.
But isn’t blockbuster doing that whole late fee forgiveness thing where as long as you return them within a week or so there are no late fees? It used to be you had a week, and if went past a week they automatically charged you for the price of the movie. You then had 30 days to return it for a refund.
So yeah, Blockbuster > Netflix. Not sure what Netflix next move is here because without a network of stores they really don’t have a way to compete with this.
