Network-Wide Builds Section Added

The first of the Net-Wide forums that Shift members now have access to is the Net-Wide Build forums. You’ll notice it on the ‘Forum’ page and / or can view it here: http://www.shift518.com/forumdisplay.php?12-Builds

This forum is for those who are putting in a lot of work building any vehicle and want the most exposure.

Do you have to use it? Nope. You can still post your builds in Shift’s build section and your thread / posts will only be visible to Shift members. But if you do post a build in the Net-Wide Builds section you’ll be sharing your project across multiple forums and you’ll get input from members who are on those forums as well.

If you currently have a build thread on Shift that you’d like us to move it to Net-Wide Builds just ask and we’ll move it there. (You’re spending the time anyway, why not share it with more people?)

A few of these builds have been featured on sites like Jalopnik & The Truth About Cars.

Threads in Net-Wide Builds are shown in ‘What’s New’ and ‘New Posts’ when updated.

Again, keep in mind your posts and threads in this section can be seen by many more people than just Shift. If you decide to crap on someone’s thread, you’re access to the Net-Wide Builds section will simply be removed.

Take a look at what’s there now. I’m sure there is something to interest everyone!

nice! I spend hours a week looking at other build threads for ideas and information. Thanks for the heads up!

Find the ones started by @newman or @cougarspeed they will consume hours of your life no problem.

Most projects are accepted by everyone. The only “Build” thread thread that I can remember where someone was razzed was when one guy created a “Build” for his civic and was posting about only basic bolt-ons, asking which cold air intake was better, etc. If you have any amount of custom work being done I’d say post it up :tup:

The only custom thing going on my bike is a projector retrofit that I will be putting together in a week or two. Everything else is bolt-ons :lol.

You should move some of Big_Red’s work over there…he’s done some good work on his cars.

I was reading his build actually. I’ll wait to see what @big_red wants to do.

I am also looking for new forums to sign up and explore… I remember you saying something about a few a list would be amazing!!

just found out about this forum thanks to the nyspeed merger.

usually the only forum i frequent thats based in the capital area is ROFLwagens

if you go on nyspeed you’ll see the switch buttons at the top. they havent been integrated into shift yet… we’re going slower this time… last time we did this is was too fast and was a bit of a culture shock :slight_smile:

the database is the same on all forums so you use your same account and all your pm’s etc are there too

We have a site switcher that hasn’t been implemented on Shift just yet, but it will be there shortly. Shift needs to be added to it. In the mean time, http://www.speedlife.net/

And you don’t need to sign up for them because your Shift518 account allows you to browse and post already! You can even send / reply to PMs cross-forum, etc.
