KK i just bought a 93 240SX DarkGreenish Black Colour…NEWAYS…
I have almost no idea where i should start first, performance wize. Thanks much appricated Ohhhh BTW. I wanna get a dirty JDM Looking Lip kit, but i cant seem to find ne thats not paki’d out lOL Ne suggestions?
Performance wise? i’d get new shocks/springs, decide on whether i’m going to swap out for SR or keep the KA, remove hicas and abs if that applies to you.
In fact thats what i’m in the process of doing right now. I’m putting in my springs and shocks hopefully sometime soon and then buying a lock kit/bar for hicas and then probably throwing on an exhaust and tires/rims.
Swap out that brown interior first… it will help your driving performance by lessening your distraction by its ugliness…
but otherwise, for a first time 240 owner, proper suspension, wheels/tires, brakes are generally the best starting point, not neccessarily in that order.
If I could do it all again, I would do performance before appearance.
When I took everything apart to swap in my new engine, I gained 200HP and lost $1000 worth in paint marks/scratches that I’d gotten painted from a couple months before.
When I lowered the car the rear wheel wells were hitting the tires. I rolled them and it broke the surface of my brand new month old paint. When I put on big brakes some brakefluid mistakenly squirted onto the paint and peeled it up a bit.
As for lips, sorry man. Can’t help you with the 240
And before I forget. Welcome to the Nissan family:R
I think you need to show some pictures of what it looks like.
Looks are not always a good thing to start with unless all’s you want is attention. As for performance, stock 240’s are ok. some mild suspention and good tires/ brakes you will love how the car feels and drives.
But if its power your after, i have an 87 Iroc forsale
Yea, one thing i forgot to mention that DJpyro hit the nail on the head with is your body and your chassis and the general condition of the car. Before you track your car or put in any hard driving, make sure that you’re frame rails are solid and there are no holes in your floors. Something to look for especially that i missed and now regret is the wheel well section in your engine bay. I learned that hard way that the area under your master cylinder is likely to have rust if the previous owner spilt or leaked any brake fluid onto it.
