So I just bought a 1993 240sx SE and it was stock except for exhaust. All i have done to it is put in a shitty deck, and a AEM cold air intake. What are a few other things I can do to help my car. Im thinking about working suspension first.
THANKS!

You could try these;
front lip,
180sx sideskirts
fogs,
jdm corners,
rims/tires,
various stickers that are MAD JDM TYTE YO,
rust removal?
-lol, get creative man
Get a nice spring/strut combo or a decent coilover and some sticky tires. That’ll make your car 10x more fun right there.
Any suggestions on what company? Tein? Stance? my budget is 600 a month so nothing extremely expensive
I will have a set of kyb gr-2 shocks struts and tein s tech springs for sale in the next month or so …
Change your beaten up rubber bushings for polyurethane ones. You can get the whole Energy Suspension Hyper Flex Master Set for your car at CT. Cheap and very effective upgrade - #1 IMO.
Come to me for that lmao!
lol^^
Very effective but not quite an “Easy” mod lol.
I would reccomend Stance myself, But if your looking for something cheaper megans seem to be the best buget coil out there. Read reviews on some different forums, find out whats in your price range and suitable to what type of driving you’ll be doing.
Go with KYB AGX’s for shocks, and get the Eibach Pro-Kit for springs. VERY good combo.
buy a son240sx decal
How much will I be paying for all 4 shocks and springs? and how about installation ive never done shocks before, just curious if I could do it myself or if I would need a lift and shop
Not too sure, I’d say around $600 - $700 brand new for everything in your hands.
It’s not hard to install, you need a spring compressor to do it though. That can be rented at Partsource or CT. Napa might have some as well.
You don’t need a lift, just a jack or 2.
the best free thing you can do is pull out your headlight button above your cruise or dead button and cut the brown wire , tape both ends or cap em some how, put it back in. click it to open your lights, then double click like a mouse quick and they will go down and stop and you get “Sleepy Eyes”
as for lowering springs if you want you can just shoot em off with out a spring compressor.
id say for what mark said 600-700 for them its only about 300 more or even find a used set of coilovers. to each their own, Rock sleepy eyes lmao
first thing i did is clean the hell out of the car! inside and out!
i soaked my engine bay with degreaser and power washed the hell out of it!! shampoo and vacume the interior… every single nook and cranny… if the car has decent paint… do a full hand wax … all of this just makes it easier to maintain from now on! nothing like a clean car… be it stock or not! enjoy the 240!!
I think after a few pay checks ill look into getting shocks and springs, thanks for the help.
I have already cleaned the interior, already waxed and clean the exterior, i degreased the engine bay but didn’t do the greatest job lol
u can do 5lug swap and get some nice rims after u lower that thing.
I think that what you should do first is figure out what you want to do with your car.
Track slut?
Showcar?
Some Crazy project?
Nice DD/cruiser?
Figure out what you’re doing before figuring out what to buy or else you’ll end up wasting alot of money. I just bought whatever when i first got my car and ended up wasting 600 dollars on a spring/strut that makes me sad when i get into the car.
DO THE Sleepy Eyes!!! i wish i had OLD STYLE HEAD LIGHTS… i have 2004 sentra spec-v…
highly recommend getting a good spring/shock combo (ie. kyb agx or tokico blues w/eibachs), upgrade your pads and rotors with something decent (maybe hawk hps with brembo blanks), and get some nice rubber (regularly priced around 120-150/tire…there are too many to mention).
^^that would be a decent start to things. i always try to push people to start off with footwork first but other than that, you might want to look into a short shifter and knob…those will be quite easy to install as well and the SS will make a difference.
if you’re willing to do it yourself or dish out the labour $$, swap all of your rubber bushings for the polyurethane replacements (energy master kit). if you don’t want to do all of that, swaybar endlinks are a good place to start for poly.
and overall, go through everything on your car in terms of drivetrain and make sure everything has had a tune up (all fluids are good, no leaks, timing’s in check, good batt and alternator readings, fuel, air filters, etc.).
basically make sure that ALL of the important items on your car now are in good working order before you start adding stuff. it’s always good to start off with a clean slate.
