new exemption for classic plate'd cars

Hey, just wondering if this is true or not?

I’ve heard they just passed a rule that cars that are registered with a classic plate now doesnt even need an inspection?

if true, that’d be great, but now seems like it’d make getting antique plates pointless besides have a preference for what plate you want…

this is from the pa dmv website:

Classic and collectible vehicles are subject to vehicle safety inspection annually. Antique vehicles operated exclusively between sunrise and sunset are exempt
from the normal lighting requirements of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, but must have their original lighting equipment. Antique vehicles are not subject to
the annual vehicle safety inspection. Antique, classic and collectible vehicles are not subject to emissions inspection.

now, im not sure if this is a new law and they havent changed it or what

that’s how it’s always been.
when i was at the car cruise sunday a guy mentioned it like they just revised it.
not sure where he heard it from…and if it is true i guess they diddnt update the website lol
