New from Amherst

Hi all,

Figured I should finally get on here after years of knowing about this forum. I’m Mark from Amherst and I’ve been into this very expensive hobby for quite a while. I’m currently driving a 2001 Audi S4 Avant which made some healthy numbers on the dyno without requiring a full engine build (383whp/419wtq). My S4 is my DD and will hopefully remain so for quite some time. As with all project cars, it’s never quite done, but I’m happy with the progress I’ve made in the past few years.

Years ago, I was a Mustang guy and am still quite familiar with that scene. I had a 2002 Mustang GT with a Kenne Bell supercharger and later I had a 2003 Cobra with cams and a pullied factory supercharger. Those cars were wonderful and I do often miss them. However, I switched to the S4 so I could just rock one car all year round and save some costs that come with owning two cars. Owning a nearly 15 year old S4 hasn’t helped much in the way of saving cost, but at least it’s a fun sleeper to drive

Anyways, looking forward to meeting more of you guys at C&C in OP and at other events. If you see me out with my S4 give me a wave!

Welcome!

Welcome, but I can’t see your post. The first post in the thread for me is @Onyx_Z32 saying “Welcome!”.

Thanks! Is my original post viewable? I can’t see it when I click the thread link. You’d think I’ve never been on a forum before :eek3:

Ah, yeah our spam filters are quite aggressive. I’ll get it to appear.

Awesome, thanks!

Fixed now.

Were you broken down by the Galleria on the way back from C&C?

Lol, yes. That’s what happens when you let other people drive your car :expressionless:

The throttle body boot popped off and the boost sensor broke. Luckily not nearly as bad as I thought when it happened. Car should be up and running again this week.

Welcome aboard Senna

Ah lol, hey it happens.

Car looked clean, good thing it wasn’t anything serious.

Based on your username I figured you were a diesel guy or something lol. Love the Avant!Tell me it’s a 6mt?

Haha, thanks. Glad someone here recognizes the helmet. One of the all time greats.

BTW, your V is awesome. Definitely stands out with the paint scheme.

Thanks man. Saw your hardtop miata at C&C; looks awesome… I’d love to change direction and get something nice and lightweight in the future.

Thank you. It got a lot of comments yesterday which is the point of it.

Thanks! It is a 6MT indeed… the only way to go IMO.

Yes, the name is a diesel reference! There’s a few TDIs in the family and I’ve always enjoyed having them around. Next time funds allow I’ll pick one up for DD duty.

ugh, even better. Hard to find. Welcome, sir!

(give the board a crack at the car if you ever sell)

Welcome! Saw your car at C&C Sunday and loved it! Such a clean looking avant.

Welcome “sparky”.

Yeah, it did.

:rolljerk:

Is that what was on my hood? I thought it was bird shit…

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Thanks man.

Sadly the winter has done its deed on the bumper and hood, so right now it’s a 15 footer as far as appearance is concerned. It’s tough justifying spending money on a front respray when I got the whole car done 3 years ago. Haha, I guess that’s why it’s a project car.
