My bone stock 1G tranny held quite a bit of power (52 lbs/min worth.) It didn’t want to shift from 1-2 at 9500RPM, but that’s not really the trans’ fault, either. It was 14 years old and still shifted 100% butter around town.

get that intake… i had a 95 gsx and it was all stock just added an intake and i had a friend who switched a few vacuum lines around and it made a pretty big difference… gsx & Tsi are very similar … maybe some one on here has heard of this vacuum line switch… im a new guy on here…but hi and welcome!
