Possible option on the cabinets that we went with: maple wood with a “cherry” finish. Cherry wood isn’t cheap! Ours are actually darker than a true cherry finish (it’s a cordovan stain), but the texture of the wood is similar.

Oh yeah… we are not buying Cherry… we are buying Cherry colored… My Dad sais Cherry is soft anyway and will mark easily. Not a good choice with 3 kids
