First a little history - about 3 years ago one day our 65hp merc outboard decided to overheat. The top cylinder wasn’t getting enough water, and so the engine block cracked in a small section. The boat was a 1976 starcraft open bow aluminum 16ft. Not very big, but it got the job done. Could pull a tube, skis, whatever you wanted, plus was great for fishing.
My dad hasn’t been on the water in 3 years now… and has been looking for a new boat since the old one died. About 2 weeks ago we happened to spot a craigslist ad about 20 minutes after it was posted. Emailed the guy, checked it out the next day, bought it within an hour of seeing it. Boat hadn’t been in the water since 2001. After not being on the water for 3 years you really really really miss it. What a pleasure it is to have a boat again… and an upgrade at that. I can’t believe the shape this boat is in for what year it is. You have to see it in person to really get a feel for how well kept and barely used it was. Everything on the boat is original.
