The only issue I have heard of with that engine is some people had the problem of consuming a quart of oil between changes

the auto trans blowing up is to be expected. i can’t figure out how you broke a 2.0. like daddie said, the are tuned to put out way less power than they are capable of, therefore they last forever. this is a formula vw has been using since before the war.
