New Project, 57 Chevy Inside (56k GTFO)

It wont be cheap, but it wont be that bad either. I have put more money into previous cars in just 1 winter…body and paint will be the worst of it. Either way, when i’m done, it should be worth several times more than i put into it.

i see that nobody’s fucked with the jesus

Actually owning 2 of them in the past and being a huge fan of the 55-57, it’s honestly not that bad at all. From the pics, the typical bad spots aren’t bad at all. It could be a money pit, but if done right, might not be that bad. I’ll tell you right now, chrome is $$$$ for it if you buy new. I’d get it replated if its in good shape.

My Camaro could be considered a money pit, but if I told you how much I invested in it and how much it could sell for you would be suprised. It’s all how you manage the project.

lol, hes been chillin there for the last 35+ years, as well as a garter belt hanging on the visor.

awesome!

That’s awesome! Love to hear stories like this. I’ve gotten to know these cars somewhat in the past year with my build, so if there’s anything you need a hand with let me know. The father-son connection can’t be beat, I’m sure he’s as excited as you to see this happening.

Good luck with it!

He was sad to see it go, but glad to see that its finally going to get worked on. He was going to start it when he retires in a few months, but i know him…he just wont have the time. figured i could get a jump on it, so me and him can enjoy it. or as he put it…drive him around while he sits in the back seat with a case of beer LOL.

IB4 Belair for sale thread. good luck with a huge project though .seriously.

well at least it isnt a mustang… nice project
one word… gasser - do it.

I already called first dibs on it 2 weeks ago.

You know I would be good to it. Your dad would be proud and disown you and make me his son with what I would do to it

Mustangs, meh… (Except for my buddy TrueBlue)

Thanks. This one wont be for sale (caugh - ahem caugh camarojoe)
Its been in the family for way too long…and if i ever thought of selling it, my dad would have my nuts in a jar…and i’m not joking lol. You just don’t toss these cars around from owner to owner like mustangs

i love the potential, frame looked good, doesn’t look like anyone has hacked it up but you’ll know for sure when you get it apart. good luck with it, keep us updated.

btw… GM 572 crate motor… do it.

i know for sure no one hacked the frame…the car was virtually unmolested when my dad got it, and he told me everything he has ever done to it…just a few bolt holts from his makeshift front bumper and trailer hitch lol.

and nah on the 572…though it would be badass…its way too much (power and $$)…im thinking a nice, simple 454…

Buy this, keep the big block and give me the Chevelle

Verry nice man. Look forward to seeing it done

awesome!

this would be great for a nice lsx 6.0 truck motor and and 4l80 or 60. It would be cheap and make great power and still get good mpg for cruising I say do it.

man nice pick up. i always had love for tri-5’s. cant wait to see what u throw under the hood. U guna leave it manual transmission??

 +karma’d

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing a build thread for this one.

That first photo is going to look fantastic next to a photo of the completed project in a few years. Good luck to you sir!
