I had whiteline inserts and they snapped and went out… lol you can imagine the banging and clicking afterwards…
Anyways I went full solid and never looked back… yes its noisy as hell but I like the performance. Could always go full poly bushings… either way will take some work
Could also try aluminum inserts as opposed to the whiteline polyurethane inserts i used… but again… that’s a cheap fix… Personally for me building this car… I am out for performance but if you want some comfort… probably better off using full poly bushings… they’ll still be noisier thank stock rubber… always got to compromise…
^^ looks to be a nice 3+ hour project to do the bushing replacement. You’ve got to drop the complete rear subframe. Then the fun part getting the bushings out… press or lighter fluid - no kidding.
Neither is a bolt on affair, and you can’t just rip the inner sleeve out.
Solid bushings allow you to cut the bushing and cup insert out…Poly usually make you keep the cup insert…which is very hard to do in my experience.
Either will involve subframe removal, bushing burning/cutting to remove the old material and cup if applicable, then either pressing the poly into the inner cup or pressing the aluminum into the subframe cup.
Sub frame inserts can be done without subframe removal (just loosening), but I’m not 100% on how good they work…never used them or looked them up. I think they’re more of a temporary fix.
If anyone wants to go aluminum bushings, and want to raise their subframe to a flush-mount by only installing the lower bushing (see my build thread), pm me I have a set for sale.
