how is ur A3/gti more fun then?
Picked up a 2011 wagon this week. Driveability is very nice/fun and I haven’t gone over 4k rpm as per break-in yet, and the cars are very tune-friendly even for just a Stage 1 tune with no other mods. The plastics are cheap, but you aren’t paying for an interior, you’re paying for a solid drivetrain, and the new transmissions are great and a long leap from the early models that gave the WRX a bad taste in peoples’ mouths. Personally I like the interior, love the exterior, dislike the stock shifter (though that can and will be changing shortly) …
Stock it is extremely quiet, I can hear the road over the sound of the car, and for me that just won’t do, haha
If you don’t race it than it’ll be as reliable as the next car that you buy new. Obviously I can’t touch on this long term but from the reading I’ve done the car is very solid in the long run, especially the 2011. For all of the improvements and the STi body, I would say that the 2011 is one of if not the best years for the car, but I’m obviously biased. >.>
If you’d like to check one out than toss me a pm

Have you driven one?
I drive a MKV GLI often and I definitely wouldn’t say it’s a more fun car to drive than a newer WRX.
Jesus christ these double posts are getting annoying.
Ya. I have a 2011 wrx sedan premium. Def fun to drive. I only have 2k on it and I already bought the Cobb access port. Drives great, smooth but very raw feeling. The interior is great lots of options and I say this coming from my e46. There great daily drivers and pretty aggressive when u get on it. A couple guys on nasioc are dipping on the 12’s bone stock. I mean a wrx is much faster and handles better than a new gti. Don’t really see how the gti could be “more fun”. That was a dumb statement lol
