I was looking at a rebuilt title vehicle in that was titled in new york state.
On the NY title at the middle right of the title it states Rebuilt title: FL
If i title/register the car would i have to go through the salvage examination? or does it title/register like a regular vehicle?
and
on the back of the title it asks about the car being wrecked etc. is that as of the current condition of the car or anywhere in the car history?
He pauly, even if its already ny rebuilt title? Or it doesn’t matter? So basically any rebuilt/salvage/branded title being re-registered/titled will need to be examined again?
Is it less of a hassle if its already a rebuilt title? Like the car doesn’t have to go throught the reciept and all document process? It just needs to be visually checked by the dmv?
If its already been through the salvage procdess in ny then there should be a record of it and it should not have to repeat the salvage inspection. the local number to call to be sure is 826-1501
^ disagree. My old man has been buying salvage cars for years, you just need to know what youre getting into.
BTW haws anyone checked out www.COPART.com cool site with salvage auctions on line
Pauly, is there a way to get the original vin# of a car that was issued a new vin (NY*****) from the state? The car doesnt have any original vins, assuming its been a stolen/recovery vehicle but wouldnt mind finding the full history of the car.
that is completely FALSE, i have rebuilt quite a few salavage cars. one i totaled and was paid the 100% value of the vehicles worth. also i am in the collision industry and i’ve never seen a salvage car get any less threw insurance for repair or buy out(total). Hense why i love building/driving/selling salvage vechiles :
