newb sr20det question

ok, so im going to swap an sr into my car sometime soon…i want to mod it for about 245-265 hp, what would i need to get to do this? i know fmic, safc, boost controller…but what engine add ons would produce this hp?

also, on a diff note, is there a difference between the 26mm and 30mm z32 calipers when it comes to stopping power…should i hold out for a set of 30mm over the 26mm.

thanks :?

30mm are slightly heavier and should produce slightly more force (term escapes me), but overall the difference would be hardly noticable, pads will make more difference than rotor width

before the motor goes in consider a 3" turbo extension and downpipe cat and exhuast

check the clutch…

26mm calipers are aluminum (1990) N/A only

30mm Calipers also came in aluminum (1990 TT & 91-92.5) N/A & TT

30mm calipers are iron (92.5 - 1996) both N/A & TT

they changed to iron calipers as the aluminum ones in cases were warping.

as to whether you’ll notice a difference between the 4mm difference, I highly doubt it…

which ones have the ripple finish cast look and came on silvias???

30mm Iron Calipers… “are the ones which appear to have a ripple finish”

gooogle; “Z32 brake comparison” 1st hit;

DAMMMMMM ITTT, search…

Hey if you need, I got the rear rotors and drums from a 300zx, they are the 26mm. Make me an offer, don’t want them anymore as I revised my setup. I also have the spindles for the rear that you need for the z32 brake conversion.

ok, thanks! so does anyone have any tips/pointers on how to get 245-265 hp out of an sr?

-fmic
-u might wanna ether check ur clutch and flywheel or just replace it all together.
-nice new exhaust manifold, turbo extention and 3 inch downpipe and cat.
-nice new bov

a t28,new fuel rail and 555cc injectors should do the trick

but the possibilitys go on and on…its all about preference…

ohh and u might need some kind of ems,or safc,or just a good tune from a reputible shop…

cheers happy boosting

Yea definately get some sort of piggy back, but if you can afford it get a stand alone and get some shop to tune it, unless you can do it. BTW: i think SHIFT_KA24DET is selling one at an amazing price. Good luck.
