Looks great
here are some photo updates for you.
Here’s a shot of the new rear ebrake setup. Probably one of the few e30s with a completely new oem rear ebrake. Also pictured are purple axle, green dif, yellow strut, blue swaybar and orange subframe. Black is so boring.
Here is a shot of the freshly polished fuel rail. Did that tonight…
And lastly, for all you naysayers, here’s a shot of the plenum, complete with polished/painted throttle linkage sitting in the engine bay to compare the violet to the green of the chassis. I think these two colors look stellar together!
i like the colors
You should put some wonder bread circle shapes on the car for details. Would look stellar.
I really like how this is turning out. That dif is awesome.
Are the axle and plenum two different shades? The axle looks darker for some reason…
axle is spray paint. Plenum is PC.
lol. different… but ili
thats sweet. its turning out great!
On the right is an example of why you cannot machine the third pulley (PS) off of an RB26 crank pulley. There was really no way of knowing that this would happen by visually inspecting the part…
The lesson learned is quantified by the 510 dollar ATI superdamper (center) and the accompanying waterpump pulley (to clear the larger damper). However, this is supposed to be an EXCELLENT addition to the motor, greatly increasing longevity, so it’s not all in vain.
I have to say, the car looks like it’s a color coded CAD model…but I think that’s fucking awesome lol
good vibrations
you gotta bring this down bailey lol. then we can meet up. I really wanna see this thing(in person) once its complete
sad to hear about a 500 dollar pulley, that money could have gone to a more useful part, there werent any cheaper alternatives?
It’s actually a very useful part.
It’s not just a pulley it’s a harmonic damper…
god so many ugly colors together somehow makes it look ok
what happened to that pulley, I don’t understand the picture…
the harlequin E30
I tried machining off the PS pulley for more clearance, but apparantly the only thing holding the center hub to the outside damper assembly is the front pulley.
i wouldn’t have ran that setup with a shitty tuning fork in the first place. obv you’re better off
Guys, you have to keep in mind that the car will not appear multi-colored from the outside
you will only see:
Green black and gold.
If the hood is popped you will see one more color. Purple. And some bare aluminum.
It’s really no different a color scheme than any car with an engine that’s not black or body color…
