Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

You’re going to end up doing all this and forget something trivial like putting oil in the motor

yes… it takes FOREVER! (yes i know you were asking the other dude)

Brian

Sans paint, yes. Maybe I did it so quick because it was my only car at the time but this thing was almost done when I first joined this forum over a year ago, I just figured it would have been done by now.

almost done a year ago? where did you read that, incase you didn’t notice this thread is updated in chronological order, as things happen

LOL, first post was from 2006. I’m not saying anything, because I’ve had my project STi since March which has been probably 1/30th of the work compared to Newman’s build, and it’s still not running.

 to quality.

wow lotta hate goin on mang.

nice build. i’m getting excited with my e30.

Whoa whoa wow, don’t take what I said in the wrong matter. I’m not hating, I just thought(hoped) it would have been done by now.

newman doing it right>rushing it.

please dont let that happen, the techs at delta sonic do this frequently

Got the rear glass in the car and the package tray. Need to make some exhaust hangers ASAP so I can get the tunnel + seats in permanently.

Also ordered recently:
DTM Fiberwerkz CF hood (1/2 sponsored)
NRG quick release hub
Momo wheel hub (need to cut this down and reweld I think)
Prepreg CF for firewall closeoff
Flexalite 12" slim puller
Stef’s Catch can

I also am pretty sure I sold my old big brake kit to a local turbo E30 guy.

Also summit racing must hate that I keep adding shit to this order over and over. Check out all those different ship dates, all on 11.95 handling.

Nah, they probably love me…

Look at all this other shit I ordered.

 @ summit orders

It wouldn’t be a red turbo e30 by any chance would it?

Yup. Guy’s name is tom and he lives on grand island.

^I definitely know him lol. He was my high school technology teacher, I remember when he bought his e30 back when I was going to school. I just saw him the other day at a DITB meet, his car is super clean. He’s a great fabricator to boot. He’s one of the main reasons why I choose to go in Tech Ed for a career.

I saw his setup. It’s OK I guess.

I can’t get down with piecuts.

why arent the bumpers and fender flare on yet?

my guess would be because they aren’t painted

maybe you should get crackalakin then.

Yeah, saw it too, its pretty decent for a diy’er. They do sell those j-u vibrant bends though…
