Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

ill force raw beef in his mouth if he bails out on this project.

OK, worked on the tunnel today… well, removing it… We are going to make a custom tunnel for the transmission as well as the exhaust. Probably just formed mild stell. We may make it a removable doghouse kind of thing.

From engine bay:

Yeah, you’ve stood in your engine bay, but have you ever done this?

Needs a bit more trimming. Just a little bit…

Tomorrow (or friday) I’ll be finishing the trimming and building a transmission mount. We decided that since so much material was removed from the unibody, we are going to run some extra bolt-on stiffeners under the transmission.

Oh, and this came:

jeebus that’s a big terblo…

you never seen a gt35r ?

nope…

the only turbo’s ive really seen much in person are my T25’s lol

Great progress Newman! You’re kicking my ass on the BMW swap front.

Doghouse idea is a good one. That’s really coming along.

This project makes jam a little more angry every day…

ahhahahahahaahaahaha

Wow this project is awesome. Looks like progress is getting there.

I don’t remember if it was mentioned it but is this gonna be strictly a track car or what? Gutted/caged or full interior or what?

**dont feel like reading through 10 pages again to find that bit of info.

rear gutted. front will have dash and carpet, but nothing behind the dash… Probably 6 point cage, but the guy from safe drives is trying to talk me into the 4130 10 point rally cage… but at 1800 shipped, i think i’m going to pass…

Take the car to procar in Rochester for a cage. Awesome quality and very inexpensive.

Let me know when you sell it

fuck a cage get some SHOWTUBES DAWG!!!
