not again.
:hay:
There is also another issue…
My waterpump housing leaks really badly:
See the small waterpump upper hole that’s directly under the left (intake) sprocket?
Take a look at this pic of my new waterpump installed:
See how there’s a slot in the housing? That slot actually goes INTO the pump cavity. I’m gonna try and weld the slot closed… I probably should have noticed this on assembly, but I didn’t
probably a ground, electrical problems are almost always a ground issue
how is this handled stock? why would you have to weld something shut? (idk if this is shown in the first pic bc its blocked at work)
lol really? Newman says there is a problem with the EMS and you jump to a ground with absolutely no information? BWUAHAHAHA.
I’ve seen way more boxes let the smoke out due to poor electronics rather than grounds.
right, but when you wire in a whole chassis harness its easy to overlook a ground that may be critical to the EMS to work properly.
Its another thing if the EMS unit itself is junk.
RJ had that same water pump issue on his rb20 or rb25 (i forget) i believe he ended up contacting the place he got it from and they sent him a different pump, the correct one
i have nothing to contribute, other than your exhaust manifold looks very nice
He and Mike went over all of the grounds, fuses, relays, ext last night. There was quite a bit of diagnostic time done before deciding the EMS was to blame.
oh, it was actually the EMS? thats shitty.
It would appear so. There wasn’t any logical explanation for it in the wiring, relays, coils ext. Newman and Innovative Mike went over everything.
What brand was that pump? I had an OEM nissan one i think on the last RB26 I assembled. The slot is there but obv shouldn’t go into the cavity. Good luck.
god update this already! i feel like im waiting for next weeks episode of hero’s! (yes i know the season’s over)
its welded now
ill be over tonight to help with the intake duct holmes…
Haha, thanks jay.
Front end is back together. Matt tigged the slot up for me then I block sanded it flat.
Golly, what a large pump you have there.
haha, such a phallic picture…
Hahahaha
