I forgot how cool that mustard color is. your color schemes are the craziest thing ever, but fit beautifully.
nice piece, but why this canister?, whats wrong with having a buddy pump it up?
quick question is this thing staying awd? =)
Because pumping it up takes forever. Pressure bleeders are about 100x faster than having someone pump the pedal.
I bet I could bleed my whole car from a dry system faster than 2 people could bleed one wheel after a caliper change.
so what do you do?
Set that pump up
pressurize it
open one bleeder valve
let the fluid flow catching excess
close bleeder nipple
exactly.
that’s slick…sounds so not messy
it’s stupid easy.
Hallock… wtf is the story with your burning porsche project?
well, if normal brake bleeding is messy, you’re doing it wrong, lol.
this is years ago, I think I was 14 or so when the project started. my dad had a '72 911Touring. had been in a tornado accident when we lived in Houston during storage, so we decided to make a build out of it. had it painted Mexico Blue, all CF interior, custom cage, fuel cell, 3.8L twin turbo engine (IIRC), 3.8 RSR flares/fenders. a short on startup ignited a leaf in the engine bay, and before you knew it the whole rear of the car was on fire. the engine was toast, and most of the rear was gone. the foam sprayers hadn’t been hooked up yet, and my dad still regrets it to this day. that frame and most of the inside/front was used as a different race car a year later.
I linked my dad to your build, he’s been reading about the guy who has the V10 TT swap in his M3 as well (he was a huge BMW guy for 20 years or so).
edit: I have to have some pictures of those cars in polaroid form somewhere.
Doesn’t appear so…
Fucking heartbreaking ![]()
i prefer vacuum bleeding most of the time to pressure bleeding. i had a motive bleeder ($$) EXPLODE and spray brake fluid all over a customer’s car and i had to scramble to get a hose and rinse it all off to avoid any damage. i was not happy at all…
I always keep a fire extinguisher in the car, but the day I put a battery in it I moved it next to the car.
haha, yes.
there was one in the car, bolted to the floor board where the passenger seat should have been. only car we’ve ever had that happen on (knocking on wood).
eh?
or were you thinking the madd cool a-pillar type?
Uh I think it’ll bolt to the main hoop behind the seat.
Id mount it to the floor in front of the drivers seat. That way you can acutally get to it fast, without having to get out of the car, then try to get it from behind the seat.
Dan
true. The one I have now isn’t suited for mounting, so once I get it, I’ll look more into it.
you could install a fire supression system and be done with it.
:deadhorse:
Im done… now that it runs that was my last shot…
besides, i sold my tiburon right after i finished ALL that work i did on it… so im no different…
