Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

I worked front to back… Completed tonight:

Filled coolant
Replaced leaking oil feed fitting
Added foam seal around hood to help close the gap a bit, looks good
Installed lockstrip in windshield gasket (PAIN!)
Added return spring to my accelerator pedal assembly
Trimmed under dash panel so there is no contact at WOT
Added 5th point to driver’s side harness
Installed passenger side door release trim
Installed upper B Pillar trim
Blacked out and installed rear quarter window trim
Installed rear glass lockstrip
Installed battery hold down that I made yesterday

What’s left:
Install wheels
Install inner door weatherstripping (coming tomorrow)
Install driveshaft

I have a tuning appointment on Thursday.

Make sure you keep track of all the egos you destroy. Should do something like the WWII bombers, Something like that would be sweet.

Toyota what?

This is awesome.

Haha, before I was relying on the throttle plate return springs to pull the pedal up… It worked and didn’t stick but sometimes seemed… laggy… it’s very snappy and responsive with the new spring.

I really like that splitter.

Sickk. Awesome job man!

Nice. Gotta be exciting to actually be near the end. I expect you to take Jesse for a ride and beat a corvette this time!

It’s kind of sad seeing this come to an end.

I look forward to the creative engineering updates.

What do you think might be next on your list? Save up for a ferrari? Mods on the exige? … We all know you need to be doing something new always.

AWD conversion… no, really…

I gotta find something… I might make/modify my own…
