I forgot I took this yesterday:
Matt found the v bands are all leaking so he’s going to seal them all and the muffler is just set in the pipe so we’ll weld that up tomorrow.

sweet, good update Mike. i wanna be there for some boost runs since i prob cant make it today! woot.
and the car looked awesome on its maiden voyage through the shop last night!
Sometimes people ask why we check all these things when we tune a car like this. Here’s a prime example. Had we not smoke tested the exhaust system we wouldn’t have known that the check valve in the exhaust wasn’t working and exhaust is blowing straight into the valve cover and crankcase. Yikes!
We also found a number of leaks in welds so there’s a bit of work to do tomorrow.
I’m questioning if it’s a big deal… I don’t think it’s wide open and I think it requires a pressure differential to seal…
 to a detailed checklist Mike
and the car looks so great outside and on the “ground” (except for the blue IC coupler).
I think the side skirts painted black might look goofy. Like those old one piece fiberglass running boards for trucks (buckboards, or w/e we used to call them) that went over each wheelwell and down the side.
Dan
On a scale of one to baller, yes.
Yep, pretty badass looking.
yeah, that would look a lot better as black.
Why was a smoke test necessary for the intake boost leak test. Wouldn’t that system be easier to just hook up to the turbo inlet and pressurize. I can see on the exhaust that is not an option.
And I agree that this would be a monster to tune, but it’s probably a great learning experience for everyone involved! It’s not ever day that something like this comes around, and you get to make it perfect

how is this done? my buddies v-band off the turbo is leaking pretty bad
alot of times people are just ignorant of the possibilities too. Not ignorant in the slander way, but truly actually ignorant. dudebro.
Newman - you’re a fggt. <3
This is pretty sweet.
It’s not low enough. Don’t you want to fit in with the euro kids?
RAD… cant wait for heater pics!
Got to see this guy in person today when I stopped by Innovative. You damn sure put a lot of work and detail in this. I have some more reading to catch up on!
+1 on both accounts.
Good progress guys.
You think the carpet pissers did this?
yeah the chinaman…
I just want my rug back man!
Looks great
Because there have been a number of cases where a leak was not found using pressurized air alone. We have the proper tools. We might as well use them.
I got far enough along to run into a triggering issue today. I’ll post more on that in a minute.
