on the bottom, i should have said that, i am shocked because they look like a rookie made them.

THE MAJORITY OF THE LOAD IS A SHEER LOAD ON THE VERTICAL PORTION OF THE FRAME. IF THE PLATE WAS BROKEN SUCH THAT IT FIT UNDER THE RAIL, YOU WOULD GAIN SOME RIGIDITY, BUT WHAT IT BOILS DOWN TO IS THAT I DO STRUCTURAL STEEL WORK ALL DAY, AND I’M CONFIDENT THAT THE MOUNTS I’VE FABRICATED ARE SUFFICIENT TO WITHSTAND ANY FORCE I THROW AT THEM.

Dude newmans a mechanical engineer i think he knows what hes doing. They show me stuff like that everyday im in my engineering classes im sure hes done the calculations

i do just stand your point, i would have rather seen you make a plate at the motor, and use some type of tubing to connect the two, but it tend to over think and over build my product.

P.S. i am not wrong, just am one to question ones thinking…you need to keep this until the CRX is complete.

solid mounts, jeez you’re nuts lol

if you need wheels that are 4x100 just super wide I’m sure you could find some on r3v or e30tech. those auto-xers run super wide wheels

this whip is gonna shake like a mo fo yo…

my 240 hardly shook at all and it had the most feeble rubber mounts ever.

get off yer ass! and finish this bitch!

haha jp man. just wanted to know if there had been any progress since you got back(didnt u just get back saturday night?) i wasnt sure. its been awhile since ya had an update.

Isn’t it at some shop?

it’s at vito antonicelli’s shop, and i’m still in houston…

I don’t know if you have come to this yet, but I noticed that your floor boards were rusted exactly like mine. I too lost my gas pedal lower mount. I have to worry about exact placement due to the fact I will be reusing the factory carpet. Since you have more experience fabricating these sorts of things, I was wondering what you might have in mind. I think I will need to make some sort of box for the lower hinge portion to slip into. I dunno, anybody have any suggestions. I don’t have any other E30’s near me to check out. The guys on E30tech don’t have their carpet out supposedly.

i’m not putting any factor carpet back in, i’m just tossing in the gas pedal as is. it will be fine.
