Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

It’s been a LONG time.

Got my radiator today. Custom built to my specs. 275 bucks.

thats really not a bad price for a custom radiator.

looks good

i paid 400 for my off the shelf fluidyne radiator in my 240.

Damn! thats sad that a lower quality production radiator costs almost twice as much.

well, the fluidyne had a slightly higher density core, but still. I def can’t complain about the price.

yeah, its definately a killer price.

good looking welds on her too.

cool shit. Oroc has a one off radiator in his IROC as well, i forget the name of the place that did it but they did a wicked job…

so whats your time frame for finishing this piece as of now?

um. i’d say an easy month
maybe 2
depends on how well the bodywork goes… I’m totally going to post a thread like bill did looking for body help.

id be willing to help work on your body.

also, afterwards we could work on getting your car prepped for paint :tspry:

did you get the radiator done at moxies??

wow that looks really good. What was the turn around time from when you ordered it to receiving it? I dont know if MPD47 might be thinking what im thinking but 951 upgraded radiators usually cost 100 or so more
it’s at vito antonicelli’s shop, and i’m still in houston…
:headbang:excellent choice of chassis guy

Did you design the radiator with Inventor/Solidworks or just tell them what you needed and dimensions?

i drew it in cad, then faxed him the print. It took about 3 weeks for them to build it. I may have him build my surge tank. Not sure yet.

Radiator was done at moxies.

have u worked on the car at all recently?

this car is going to be fucking sweet when its done!!!

Manifold and all plumbing is 100% done.

I could have done the minor motorwork that needs to be done (timing belt, waterpump, paint valve covers)

or built my new custom fuel rail

or machined my manifold.

but i didn’t i’m still kind of recovering from… something. Not sure what.
