Do you want direct fit? Or are you fanning up everything?
What are you looking to achieve with this bike? If you plan on learning on it, then you probably won’t want to keep it long and therefore shouldn’t put money into it for stuff like this. If this is a project you intend to keep for a while, then you’re in for some long work ahead of you.
Just ride it as is, let it serve its purpose, and then upgrade when you are ready. And then in the mean time you can save yourself all the time and money required to do this.

Chris… Ehh your right sorta. I would ride it, but before that I would take it apart and make sure its not going to explode on me. My first bike was 1600. Thing was bad ass tho. 92 Yamaha TDM 850~ psh holla. Post a pic of this bike up, lets brainstorm.
