This is a PSA, cross-post from a well respected Z mechanic. Just in case any of you guys were planning on using “Key Value” clutches; Nissan OEM parts are “Made in JAPAN” (and cost 3 times as much) these are “Made in USA”
Recently worked on 2 local TwinTurbo cars that had Nissan “key value” clutches installed on them. Both clutches failed in the exact same way and caused the trans to not be able to disengage.
Nissan “key value” parts are low price, alternate supplier parts that they resell at dealerships and should not be confused w. real Nissan OEM parts.
Both cars, street driven, not abused w. less then 20k miles on them since install.
