nah there are plenty of cheap RB parts to be had all day long in Canada and a number of established vendors for them… the hard part if finding a decent shop to do any work that has any sense of what the motors are like and how to work on them… but they’re out there.
Engine failure on these is pretty expensive.

The jdm factor is cool and all, i just dont see the value. Looks like a $5-6k toy to me. I just dont see how this comapres to $15k vehicles like a c5/FD/Cobra/evo/s2k>>> silvia. But again just my opinion. Im sure someone will fall head over heels for that.
a $15k properly done S13 will smash a $15k mustang / C5 vette, FD, S2k all day long performance wise…
Varun and I have this discussion all the time… a $1,500 car with $13,500 in go fast goodies vs. a $13,000 car with $2k in goodies?
At those numbers the s13 has 400hp (340rwhp) with suspension and brakes to match at 2700lbs. you’re looking at low 12’s maybe high 11’s if you’re good.
At $15k your FD is still rotary, the S2k isnt boosted, the Mustang is still a Mustang and you havent got much of a vette yet… over $20k and you’re right though. the S13 doesn’t get any better with another $5k whereas the others really do.
High mileage(100k) vette with bolt ons and nitrous, I think it would be faster 
not that I want to get older, but I personally like the R33 best and can’t wait for those to become of age.

Lower production numbers on many of the cars you would want to import = higher cost of parts + shipping from overseas + beat up 25 year old car = high cost of ownership.

So it’s been nearly a year with my buddies deposit/order on his R32, a sum of $2500 was sent on 1/4/2014. JDM Ottawa Inc has ignored all forms of communcation until recently once stating a lawyer would be getting involved. They finally replied stating they will issue a refund but want his “full” account information first. They didn’t try arguing about anything or giving answers why nothing has been done. Their website is also down for whatever apparent reason.
Another buddy of mine in Texas ordered one a few weeks ago and the vehicle was already delivered to his home, easy transaction.
