wow…from the sound of it so far it sounds like GREAT customer service
wow, wonder why they will make it in 5 days but told you 5 weeks earlier? Covering some ass I suppose.
Sounds like a pretty decent company to deal with. I would imagine them loosing less than $250 is well worth them not having to loose a lot of customers if you would decide to take it to the forums across the Honda world.
Cool. Glad they are going to replace it.
hard to find a stand up company these days.
A+ to them!
when you get it back i would find some way to add an an extra brace for the turbo…
just two pieces of metal on each side to add a gussest for some added support so its not just all hanging and taking the abuse especially it gets put on being on a lowered car.
even though its not that heavy in hangs there just off that smalll piece of welded pipe.
f body guys had that issue with manifold cracking because of the weight and no flex
Erics did that when RLD did his first manifolds. eric told him what happened and Ron at RLD must have changed something up in the way he welded em cause that was years ago and I havent heard of that happening since
Same thing happened to mine and Jay stepped up his stainless welding technique, it’s been solid ever since.
damn dude that blows, did you do this at the track that day?
No, but it was starting to crack that day. maybe 1/2 inch crack then it stopped until labor day it completely fell off.
damn that sucks, well i hope everything works out for ya bud, id hate to see ya miss the next FLDs and track rental cause of that and im sure you miss driving the car lol
im going nuts, i thought i would’ve had it back by now
UPDATE:
its been a week since they recieved my manifold…yet no returned emails with information. so i called them today and they gave me some bullshit that he didnt even know it came in yet…they cleaned the warehouse out…just noticed it today…blah blah blah… said he’ll ship it out by friday. i will probably pay the $92 to get it shipped next day air because i cant wait any longer. i should’ve had it back by now anyways…owell
got it back yesterday. seems to be made out of a different type of metal…maybe this type wont crack. and it also has better wastegate placement to help eliminate boost creep.
:bigthumb: :bigthumb: To PeakBoost!
good to hear it was handled!
Post a pic of the inside of the new manifold. The main reason they crack is not because of heat and non bracing. It is heat and non bracing on a non fully penatrating weld. Like kurt said I have had this happen. Now we use Solar flux B on the backsides of all thick stainless welds.
that’s a big exhaust leak
