i have always had really good luck with licatas. they have been doing custom alignments on my s14 since the day i have had it. they have prolly done 15 different custom alignments for me. i drop my car off in the morning, give them the specs i want, and pick it up when i get out of work. and i have adjustable everything on my car and they never once told me oh we cant do that.
yeah it gets kind of expensive if it takes them longer, but they are one of the only shops who can do slammed cars.
so i think the price is more than worth it for a full custom setup.
i did go to weilands(spelling?) auto on transit rd. by clinton once. the person who pulled my car in was revving it up like a ricer, and they adjusted my traction and toe rods completely wrong and made my tires rub on the back of my wheel wells lol. thats when i went to licatas
Best bet, Make a string box and DIY to get it close. It’s what I did when I got mine together and it came out pretty damn close.

Like I said, didn’t care about the center cap. Cared that they not only hid it but then the owner wouldn’t even return a phone call. That says something about how the business is run and it’s clearly true reading this thread. If you’re buddies with Russ you get good service, otherwise good luck. That’s a shitty way to run a business and in a small community like WNY it will hurt in the long run. Anyone claiming otherwise, well, guess we know who else to avoid with our business.
I apologize for my sarcasm. However I can not tell you by the amount you lowered vehicle how far you’re vehicle is off the ground I would say you probably say 6" is the lowest. Part that can be from the ground. Ie no exhaust clamps hanging low.

for my gripe about licata’s it has nothing to do with getting a discount or customs alignment numbers. it was simply their horrible service where i had to take off work, drive 40 minutes one way to get their when i had an appointment first thing in the morning, only for them to tell me they couldnt do it when they had my number. this happened TWICE. that is by far the WORST customer service i have ever seen. and then the 3rd time i went when they actually did it they charged me an extra hours worth of time for what was about a minute of work. yeah, thats an excellent way to make a repeat customer.
nitroinsane, as for the comment of what is low, you should specifically say what kind of clearance will fit on your rack, not just “if its not low”…talk about a stupid answer. i can not drive over a 2x4 without it hitting the air dams underneath my car. the lowest point under the bumper/rocker is probably about 2.5-3" in the front. i dont think thats very low, but others probably would. apparently the same lift that scott had his amg on at my buddys shop, we had a hell of a time getting my car on with 2x4 planks and it was still hitting going on. lol.
Well all cars are going to have a different angle of pitch. Not allvehicles are the same wheel base. I am willing to try anything. However if it’s not going to fit. I am not going to proceed. I have been doing alignments for the last ten years of my life. I have been helping nyspeeders with car repairs since the beginning. *I haven’t aligned every low car in the world. So I can’t say what would fit. However you have shown fine examples of why I don’t come on here. everyone who has dealt with me knows I go more then out of my way. It may be a stupid answer. However you are not my customer and I would probably never be able to please you. Thanks for the helpful insight that you have given us though.
all i was saying is you should have given a general idea of what would be too low for you to do. you were extremely vauge. alot of cars that arent even lowered can be problematic on some alignment racks.
6 complaints because of peoples super siq custom setups that you probably fucked up when you installed them which is why it took them so long vs. 900000000 happy customers. And they just expanded their shop again. Clearly they suck. I haven’t gone there for anything in a while because devioustsi price > * but still. i’ll always go there for my alignments.

like dftsilvia said i always just drop my car off and pick it up at the end of the day, i have better things to do than sit around waiting for my car to be done.
i have gone places before and have failed for wiper blades, i knew they sucked to begin with so i didn’t cry about it. nor post it on a forum saying ill never go there again because of it. Safety is more important than a 10$ wiper blade. If you can’t afford it get a better job.
I’ve never had a problem with Licata’s. I used to have my fiance take her sunfire there for the 19 dollar oil changes, never a problem. For 19 dollars I can’t even buy a cartridge filter and oil myself. They did a front wheel alignment on the car for a good price also. I noticed they stopped running the $19 dollar oil change coupons, so I have been using the $19 firestone oil change coupon and they have been good also. We drive regular cars with stock wheels, so we didn’t need anything custom.
My major complaint is them wasting my fucking time.
8 am appointment does not mean my car should sit parked till after ten.
If that was going to be the case, Tell/call me and I would have made another appointment.
Zero issues with them tacking on an extra hour of labor or whatever they charged me because my car is “super siq custom setup” (aftermarket subframe and coilovers). I wouldn’t have even minded waiting if they were actually working on my car.
When they did get the car, It was in and out in about >25 minutes and camber on the front wasn’t done right or it might have been because the tech didn’t tighten the bolts. Looked fucked up when I got home and I started double checking their work.
ALL eccentric bolts on the front were loose.
So yeah.
8 AM appointment and I leave after 11 to have a shit job done and get charged extra.
A+ shop.

Are you mentally ill? Where in this thread did ANYONE question the work that you do that made you assert how far out if the way you go to please people? I ask a question about how low of cars you can align, keep all my comments pretty friendly, and im unable to be pleased and im the reason you don’t come on nyspeed? No one cares how long you have been aligning cars. You have made it clear that you can’t handle a relatively simple question in a respectable manner, so you’re right, id rather pay a million dollars at licatas than spend a cent at your fucking shop. Hopefully potential customers of yours will read this thread and see your arrogance and chose a shop that communicates with their potential customers in a respectable manner. But you don’t care because you don’t want nyspeed customers.

I have built a huge customer base in the last year. I don’t think u or any other overly sensitive car enthusiast is going to have any effect on that.
