who the heck is that guy? He cant seem to get a grip, or comprehend whats being asked in this thread. what an ass
L O L
-Lets start here, its NOT MY CAR. Its not a car that I worked on. Its not a car my shop is selling. Literally it has nothing to do with me other than having a conversation on the topic.
-If anyone buys anything from me complete vehicle wise, its sold as is, just like you or the next guy, becasue its coming off my front lawn. I dont have a retail license. And you are completely incorrect with your assumptions. The last car I sold was a 99 camaro z28 which passed inspection jussst fine, and infact I put alot into the car AFTER it was sold to the guy to make it as clean and nice a car/deal as I could becasue thats the kind of guy I am. Your assumptions about my bussiness, professionally or socially simply are far from correct.
-Last I checked I am not an overweight lesbian with short hair, aka a butch. I assume you are trying to call my work a hack given the context of your above arguement. Again, since aparantly you havent seen any of my efforts I am sorry but you are incorrect. Plenty of people will vouch for my efforts and pasion put into the product I produce. I am NOT someone that slathers 6 gallons of bondo on a rotted frame then covers it with undercoating and sells it out front as “Minty, no rust” out front. And again this isnt even my project in question so my abilities or lack there of are irrelivant in the discussion.
-Dont buy anything from me, I dont give a single fuck. The last 2 people on here that said the same thing “I would never deal with you, never send anyone your way, and will tell everyone to stay away from you” and one of them got a set of wheels coated by me who is now selling them with the discription of “job done by Capital Region Customs that came out flawless”. So have your opinion about me, becasue cases like keep me striving to do what I do.
This was a discussion thread trying to get clarification on how the DMV formed their rules, the only thing it has to do with me is I was the one with the opening post. I aint butt hurt, I just would like to clear up your off topic judgment against me. :hug
That is an example of exactly what I am talking about. Same exact caliber car/build. This isnt some sloppy mechanics stick welded pile of junk yard scrap metal.
the ONLY problem here (in nys) is that chevy ECU wont play nice trying to inspect a Honda VIN. Its actually one of the most efficent V8’s out there, and probably will be better with emmissions and shit than most of the turds with valid stickers on the road driving around you now. EDIT: Wonder if you could put the honda vin in the chevy ecu and publish that to the inspection computer with all the correct sensors and readyness calls the chevy ecu would have? But then that 03+ sherlock holmes computer investigates the acutal sensor signal shit might screw up that plan.
Its a seasonal car, a show car and wont see alot of use. That being said it would be 100% LEGAL to register in PA, INSPECT 100% PERFECTLY FINE/LEGAL in PA. Becasue the car resides in this shit hole nazi state we have a problem here in which we are discussing.
I do not think anyone has touched this car besides the owner except for paint.
This is the car in question, owner is now starting a LS swap and that’s why it won’t pass dmv inspection. car is perfectly safe, just won’t pass an obd2 plug in
negged for lack of reading skills…and because fuck you, this is shift.
- rep because guy is a douche
edit, need to spread some rep around first
OK I read the post and it was not real clear on what you were trying to do. Maybe my fault. the picture says a thousand words… I apoligize, and the car is a very nice build…I put a post in before, what happened to it I dont know but all you have to do is register it as a custom built vehicle… Yes we live in a Bull shit state where the politicians make laws that suck…But to save someone the bull shit of getting pulled over for some BS ticket and some Irrogant piece of shit cop on a power trip impounds the car and beats the shit out of the driver for no reason… There are plenty of custom built cars on the road and I think emmissions are waved on those cars…Every one that I have inspected never asked for it to be hooked up to OBD it was just a low inhanced emmission check …Im not an ass but there are a few on here that fit that discription…Again sorry for the BS. Nice car, Hope it all workes out for you…Bill
Got it Krazy My Bad… I apoligize…Im not thinking as clear as I normally would…I have a major heart surgery coming on the 16th and I think it effecting my brain by lack of blood/oxygen whatever… I understand now read my other post… Have a good Christmas and new year…Bill :hug
Bill… I just want you to know I didnt take a lick of anything here to the bank… its just the internet and a fourm. no harm no foul. Believe me if I was butt hurt I would have posted 4 times as much nonsense back! hahahaha
but for real. the “kit car” or “custom built” car process is no fun at all. I know people who have gone through/tried to go through that with this state they say its harder than the salvage title process… which I have done and is far from a cake walk. I have seen bikes impounded on the spot and doors taken off cars because small insignificant parts on them were not shown in receipts from the owner and didn’t match the original equipment. I also got that booklet of information to deal with getting a VIN for a custom built car idea I had. It was going to be such a pain in the ass leg work wise, it would have been easier to get a VW bug from the 60’s and weld in a section of the dash into the chassis and call it a bug!
Adam on here last I knew was going through the kit car process himself. maybe he will chime in.
BUT as you eluded to, once you have that vin tag and the regi!!! You are fuckiiiing in like you said.
GL with the repairs too man, I wish you the best and for a fast, safe recovery!
Salvage inspections suck cock. I used to go thru them all the time and you really need a receipt and vin number for every nut and bolt.
One time we had to take a fender off a car there to show the vin number. It was there but the dumb fucks were too stupid to see it.
Another time my friend had an older car that had a transmission swapped at some point long before he bought it and they gave him a bunch of shit about it but he still managed to get a title.
Thats the worst part. Its one thing if you have a wrecked car from an auction thats dead nut stock and your repairing, but if its a customized car your repairing or in this case building you have better looked that car over very good. Chances are very good it could have a junkyard motor swapped in, trans, doors, etc. that you didnt know about when you bought it. Or, you swapped them and never thought you would need to do this type of inspection and didnt keep your records. And they have every right to detain the car on the spot for suspect stolen parts, even if they wernt stolen and were on the car when you bought it you dont have recipts showing that then they are considered stolen.
