No power to to car after Hicas lock bar install

Hey,

I installed a hicas lock bar, and now there is no power to the car. It starts fine, but the instrument panel is off, no lights come on, the headlight will no pop up, although they will come on. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!

That’s a very vague description. Installing the lockbar is simply a bolt and nut affair. I recently removed my Hicas and there were only two wiring connectors, one at the rear splitter and the other at the solenoid. I cannot think of any reason why the stripping of Hicas/installing a lockbar would have any effect on your power supply. I would say the installing of your lockbar and your car having no power are unrelated.

Yes that the problem. I suspect it has nothing to do with the Hicas Bar, but I need to find out how to fix it.

is it possible you may have loosened a ground or gotten rust in the way? Could be that you messed up a power cable or ground cable whilst installing the lock-bar. But as that other guy said, hicas is mostly mechanical and deleting it with the lock bar should have nothing to do with the electrical.

Well its not a completely mechanical system as it has its own computer system. however that said as soon as it finds a problem at start up the whole system should go into safemode. this means you should have the hicas warning light come on on the dash it should stay on i believe or blink before shutting off. if you have a connector touching some part of the car that you disconnected you could ground that out and that would fuck up some stuff.
