Like I previously stated, I have been a firefighter for 5 years, I have seen first hand what the effects are of wearing vs. not wearing a seatbelt in many cases. yes, sometimes wearing a seatbelt can cause you to die as a result of the type of crash but very RARLY! You are takeing a much much greater chance by no wearing one than you do by wearing one. Remember, though it does not seem fast, a 35 mph crash, while not wearing a seatbelt, can cause you to go through the windshield. The car stops moving, you do not. simple concept of inertia. And object in motion (you) stays in motion untill acted upon by an equil or greater force (the windshield/street). In which case you are being picked up with a sponge. Sorry to be redundant but I can not stress enough the importence of wearing your seatbelt, but hey…it’s your life.
