In the front right corner of my car my Coilover has blown I think, the left side is still stiff but the right side when I have the car up in the air I am able to move it up and down about 1.5" to 2". They are JIC Magic coilovers but I don’t know exactly what type. They came on my car so they are Japanese version. Does anyone know of a way to identify what type of coilover it is, there are no part numbers on it. Thanks
bump. Please any info!
I have two blown JIC’s in the front of my car right now.
If you take the wheel off and look at the coilover it will have alot of fluid around or on it. If you take it out you can check the seal and find out for sure. Older JIC’s have a type of seal that rusts or deterorates away causing the liquid to spray out.
JIC is generaly a track suspension and most feel they do not last on the street.
I had the same problem as you and my coilovers had no identification marks as to what type of JIC they are.
Glad mine will all be replaced soon.
i know its a bit off topic but how long does a good set of coilovers last on the street? such as teins? cusco?
