Nokian Retractable Studded Snow Tires

Nifty. You can have your burnouts and your winter traction too:

The idea of the combined non-studded and studded tyre is that the driver can make the switch when the conditions clearly change. Studs are not used on dry roads and stable winter conditions, but they can be activated in icy weather for extreme safety.

Yes, they spelled tire wrong.

I am pretty sure thousands of people have thought of this but can they actually produce them? It would be great if they came out automatically when ABS/traction control is being used.

I’d like to see how they deploy, especially when the tire is covered in snow and coated in ice.

Hakkas aren’t cheap to begin with, these will be insane…

wouldnt work for me, as soon as the roads get slick I turn traction control off.

Trye is the correct spelling in original english.

as a history major i am interested in what you think original english is…

t-r-y-e is tire of course. LOL

X…

yea he spelt it wrong…but either way it is in no way original english…its just how they spell it over the pond…kind of like honour/honor expect Canada uses the british spellings for those but not for tyre

either way…these seem kind of cool…but i can imagine a lot of things going wrong with them…i think for most people who live in shitty enough places that they need to use studded tires…then can just switch them on for winter
