Does anyone know if anywhere on the Cattaraugus Reservation has non-Ethanol gas?
Delta sonic on Ridge rd in west Seneca has it. Bout the only place I know.
Thrifty oil in Lockport also has it. Most all of the delta sonics have ethanol free 91 now
I want E98 !
the 91 octane at NOCO doesn’t have Ethanol.
Stupid question. But why do you need ethanol free gas? I tried running some in my car for a few months to see if it will make a difference of any kind. Didn’t really notice anything measurable.
Ethanol free gas is preferred for boats which by his other post may be why he is asking.
Got ya. Make sense since alcohol is more hygroscopic than just gas.
All the 93 is ethanol free at the rez near me. I see 30-40 more miles per tank with it.
hmm maybe I should see if there’s a difference. I could use all the help I can get, this 13-14mpg shit is getting old.
I tried some 93oct Ethanol free from the same spot as Adam and I noticed the same gain in mileage. That’s about the only benefit you’ll see though, depending on your driving habits.
What people generally don’t know is that the Natives, or whoever else is selling E0, aren’t doing any of us a favor unless you are using it in marine apps or small gas engines. See, the thing about fuel containing 10% Ethanol is that it was added to the fuel as a supplement to having no lead. The lead was originally introduced to reduce the affect of knock on such a volatile substance as gasoline. The introduction of 10% Ethanol helped do two things; oxygenate the fuel for a better, more complete burn and increase the octane and knock resistance.
All cars since the early '90s have been designed with that fuel in mind. Your car will run it’s best with 10% Ethanol in the fuel. My suggestion would be to go back to using a good quality fuel such as Sunoco, Exxon, Hess, Shell, Mobil, or BP.
So where is Mayberry? lol.
The Red Apple Quik Fill on rt 5&20 @ Silver Creek exit of the thruway has eth free 91 oct.
Yep, this was for my boat, and this is exactly where I filled it up this weekend…twice. I did some other research and found that First American on the rez has non-ethanol too, but the place just seems a bit shady to me. That’s not to say it’s legit, but I don’t need to have issues out on the water. I wanted to find a place on the rez to save some money, but I’ll keep filling up the boat at the Quik Fill for now anyway. I don’t own a fuel injected or even remotely modern gasoline powered vehicle, so maybe I’ll try some of the rez non-ethanol gas in one of those and see how it goes. Being stuck on the side of the road is a minor inconvenience compared to being stuck on the water…
