not a bike thread! who here has snowmobiles?

ive only ridden a few and do not know much about them mechanically, what i have figured out is that they are fucking high maintenance compared to my sportbike, but i wouldnt mind investing between 2-3 grand for one, maybe not this winter, maybe never if i decide to move away someplace warm

i was looking at some craigslist stuff and came across these

fill me IN

i have always ridden Polaris snowmobiles and loved them. there all good sleds and it is really just preferences in style and power. i worked on almost all of them and like i said between Polaris, arctic cat, ski doo, and Yamaha there all awesome but like you said they can be somewhat high maintenance but all and all there worth it if you go out riding enough (with friends who ride too) oo and i almost forgot to say they hold there value like dog shit. you buy one new for 10,000 and a season later its worth 4,000 lol good luck

they’re fun and all, but the very limited riding season really takes away from the appeal for the casual rider.
Every time i’ve talked to people with snowmobiles, they seem to be saying one of two things:
“I wish it would snow enough for the trails to open, I really want to ride!”
or,
“Go figure, the ONE night that it’s good enough to ride, I have to (insert life-related b/s)”

the biggest thing i am worried about is the limited riding season, alrite nvm, this thread was a fail on my part, unless i come across one for 100$ im not buying one

They’re not all that high maintenance, especially compared to a boat or jetski. I bought an 01 srx 700 last winter for $1700. Theirs some really good deals on CL this year. You can pick up something fairly decent for ~1200.

im going riding with letitrip 2nite

dead thread revived

I has a few, Your runners on the bottom of the ski’s, oil, and sliders/
Rev’s are pretty good bang for the buck. I got some decent miles in this year and I have turned down a lot of rides. Most people don’t want ride unless its perfect, screw it go have fun you got all summer to fix it. Trail runs right off my property just let me know if you wanna ride!

I’m thinking about picking one up before next winter. People ride right across my front yard every day and I’m getting jealous.
