But im looking at getting a new vehicle tired of my mazda and kinda expecting shit to start breaking now that its got 70k + on it and its been modified and driven hard. Im thinking an SUV and none of that faggy crossover shit. Maybe an FJ Cruiser, Xterra, or Jeep. Kinda looking for input on those 3 or maybe something else if u have any ideas.
if you want to look at a jeep contact Jon Adams @ langan chysler jeep on central. he is on here and works as the assistant sales manager there and can hook you up
Acura RDX. Factory turbz. Not nearly as ugly as a Juke. Winning.
I do have to say I like the Xterra, drove my neighbors a number of times.
FJ’s and Xterra’s are awesome. Jeeps r sweet too. Or you could get a Trailblazer and Lift it. LoL
All my friends tell me FJ’s r ugly but i love the friggin things. I’m looking at a White TRD edition
xterras are pretty sweet little suvs
Xterra for sure, supercharged 6sp
Idk. I like all those choices really. I drove Rtrac1’s FJ a few days ago. It’s awesome. Xterra’s are notoriously bad on gas. But still fun. And I’d kill for a wrangler 4 door.
I know you didn’t list it but…
Subaru Forester XT…a very roomy SUV, AWD and has a turbo…what more do you need? Very well built, high test crash ratings and get about 24-25 hwy mpg’s.
My fiance has the non-turbo version and I think its a great vehicle. Very reliable too, and a beast in the winter time.
Hey homie good luck!!! I haven’t heard from ya in awhile. Anyways I say buy yota or jeep them fucking nissans are crap.
Or if you don’t like that dude, Chris Snyder @ Goldstein Jeep/Dodge in Latham.
My FJC has had a hard life. It was lifted/armored on 33s for the first 30k of its life, used off road, went through 2 transfer cases before Toyota told me they wouldn’t warranty a 3rd (kept getting stuck in low range).
I stopped wheeling it… put it back to stockish, bought a dedicated trail rig and a trailer. Surprisingly the FJ tows excellent. I pull about 5k lbs (buggy and trailer combined) and get 12-13mpg doing it. Of course I have a trailer brake controller wired in as well (the trailer/buggy outweigh the FJ)
As nick could probably tell you, I abuse it now. :crackup
I change the oil and thats about it (its actually due) brakes are toast, alignment is fucked, dirty inside and out, dented, scratched, etc… :crackup
issues I’ve had (60k miles now)
-2 transfer cases replaced
-both front hubs replaced
-both front upper balljoints replaced (due to the lift)
-sensor on the t-case went out, so i cant use my locker till i replace it
-driver side seat bolster is worn through the fabric
-tons of rattles
-roof leak
needless to say, they dont make em like they used to. for reference, mine is an 07, 6spd MT, e locker, atrac with 60k miles.
if you plan on driving offroad, get a Jeep. at least they stand up and warranty shit that breaks. Toyota fought me every time due to “excessive offroad use”
Just supporting evidence to my theory that Toyota is the next GM.
I Plan on being a fake offroader, trick the truck out to look like i could take on anything but end up just babying the shit out of her. Before my mazda i had a gmc jimmy that i would beat the shit out of on and offroad it had to be the worst reliable truck ever made, With this truck eather being brand new or just a year or two old im not going to want to hurt or damage her.
I still love Rob’s FJ, always have. Not that I’d off-road, but I’d get one. Same with a 4dr Wrangler.
i love the fj’s, but then again i drive a tacoma so i guess i’m bias
I’ll sell ya my trailblazer. LoL.
GMC’s “faggy crossovers” are actually pretty nice. My neighbor has one and I like it. It’s the Terrain
The terrain is nice, but it’s got no ground clearance. Same goes for the Acadia. Theyre very nice. Just not made for off road use or to look tough in any way. Lol
It doesn’t need ground clearance to drive down route 9 and pull into the gas station once a week
