Just goes to show how a moment’s bad judgment can screw you over, and no one will feel sorry for you.
Define “survive”. Nick spent some time in the hospital, but is good now. However, his friend was still barely alive last time I checked. If Nick is even the slightest bit human, he’ll eventually run into some emotional stress about basically killing his friend.
Edit: Graziano, a U.S. Marine and a former member of Nick’s pit crew, was not wearing a seatbelt. The eye and brain injuries he sustained are expected to leave him in a nursing home the rest of his life.
Wear your seat belts kids.
