this is pretty dope, I’ve never looked at porsches but did some research and these are surprisingly inexpensive, I didn’t think these were between 20-40k. IMS bearing was replaced, besides that I don’t know if these are reliable
Honestly how many miles are you really planning to rack up on whatever you purchase? Seems like you’ve got a small fleet to spread your miles out. And Blackforest is right around the corner for any maintenance needs without getting ripped by the dealer.
I put about 500 miles a year on the viper, maybe 500 on the bike, the neon r/t I haven’t auto-x’d in 5 years and that car is the most fun.
500 miles is what I’m looking on avg.
325hp 100K mile for $35K lol no thanks
If you’re going to do it, do it.
This one is super nice.
Maybe someday I’ll understand the allure of P Cars. But for now I’ll just keep fixing them.
I’m honestly so exhausted calling people and looking at cars I feel like I’m forcing it at this point, I’m taking a breather, I check ebay motors once a week and CL every day like when I got the last car.
I think BAT is going to be my best option, everything on there is pretty much on clearance compared to everywhere else I look.
NSX in 30’s rather than 40+
Elise in 20s rather than 35+
Supra’s in 20s (base model)
I don’t want to overpay for something just because I want it bad. This happened when I bought the viper, I just gave up and a few days later I got an email, within 48 hours the car was home.
I was super pumped for this (I know it isn’t rare but still awesome and could have worn him down to 10 I bet, even 11.5 isn’t bad). Never returned any emails, couldn’t find a dealership with this (listed under dealer)
@ultradriver10000 you have experience with these
It’s one of the best example of a C5 I’ve ever seen, and these motors will last easily passed 200k not that I’d even drive it much. Throw in a bomb sound system, take off the top, call it a day.
Maybe he isn’t responding because it sold already and he just didn’t take down the ad.
What’s this head unit? “Joying?”
Damn $130k:
That’s what I figured
Also for 50k less I’d rather have a gallardo though it inspires confidence in how long these can last.
Hey, I know that car.
If you are only putting 500 miles a year, why not look into something like a clean Datsun 240z or some classic sports car? If clean, it could potentially go up in value for you while being fun.
call the guy for me lol
If I was gonna do a Z car I would get a 300zx, non turbo preferably for maintenance/reliability reasons, with removable tops.
@Onyx_Z32 would know, but if a 300zx TT is anything like a VR4 no way, I’d take the non-turbo all day long.
I did, he sold it to his mechanic (that is who is listing it).
I think I bought $1000 worth* of tires for that car to auto-x it 5-6 times.
*probably closer to $500 my cost, so kinda worth it, like $85 per event to “rent” it.
Nah the turbo isn’t bad @ubengineering . I’ve had both NA and Turbo and can say the Turbo isn’t much more work if any. A 60k timing belt change is exactly the same in-depth process.
The problem now is finding clean cars in any form. Lots have been ruined over the years.
well I emailed him twice, he didn’t list his number. How’s the shape? Is it beat to shit lol just be honest. Looks good in pics.
this is actually really nice! I’d change the exhaust, stereo and wheels
Is he asking a reasonable price? @Onyx_Z32
EDIT - I don’t think the tops come off
I can already feel my heart telling me what i need to do
Those tops DO come off.
That is in really nice shape, and I haven’t checked prices in a while but that’s low mileage and it sounds about right.
Drivers seat looks like it has some water staining on it, but could be something else.
His rear wheels are on backwards. He probably rotated them and didn’t realize the wheels themselves are directional.
I can’t see any of the obvious repainted areas where they fuck up after doing body work.
Has all the goodies you’ll never find; t-top bags, cargo cover, original window sticker.
Thanks! Maybe he’d do 75. I know I’ve never met you before but I’d totally welcome bringing you to see this thing, buy you steak dinner for your time. Check out that pic I just posted this shit would look dope with gold fat 5 spoke wheels.
Yeah I’m game.
NAs are NOT fast though FYI. Mine back in the day only ran high 14s in the 1/4 mile and it was automatic.
Ask if he’s done the 60k maintenance yet. He most likely has NOT done it seeing as it’s only at 65k right now. It’s about $1,200 with parts & labor last I checked.
