True, but if they’ve been illegal for a while and you sold yours away, it may be difficult to get your hands on new ones.
Guns across America this Saturday that’s y
No one will or should register, or sell anything. It’s a law to make politicians feel good. Nothing changes. Never thought I’d see the day a 10/22 is outlawed because of a certain stock or “high capacity” 10 round mag. People in the 1700’s revolted, and started a war over a tax on whiskey… yet our 2nd amendment RIGHTS are stripped away overnight, and people are in a rush to comply with it.
I was just there. It’s hard to get people together on such a short notice, but there were a decent number of people there.
Yep, it’s BS.
You dumb fuck the whiskey rebellion was long after the revolution. Washington himself led the army against the rebels while he was president.
The next person to throw around the American Revolution without having a fucking clue what they’re talking about is getting shanked. Fucking Jefferson himself put right in our declaration of independence that governments long established should not be overthrown for light and transient causes.
This shit isn’t grounds for rebellion, it’s grounds for not voting douche bags into office.
Just let me know when to move this thread to PolitiSuck Fry
lol I just noticed he said whiskey. I was agreeing that we sit back and do nothing. I think with the rest of the shit that’s going on is this country voting is not going to do a fucking thing. There are too many stupid people out there that will vote based on “what can he/she do for me”, I’m mostly referring to the scumbags out there. This mentality doesn’t help our situation. I’m not saying a revolution (because acting on violence without a plan put in place is absurd) but what’s next here in America? How much more can they take away from us before we finally say enough is enough?
NY was always a lost cause when it comes to pro gun/pro 2A stuff.
What happens on a national level is what really matters.
lol nooooo this is fun! I had a smile on my face while I typed that.
Anyhoo, you guys need to look at it this way: All this bill really amounts to is an announcement from the state that they will no longer be collecting tax on a significant portion of firearms and ammunition transactions.
I don’t know man, this thing, in context, really fits “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism”.
Sheldon Silver using tax money as hush money for a sexual assault victim of someone in his party
Budgets negotiated behind closed doors, 3 men in a room, year after year
Redistricting done to make it almost impossible to vote out an incumbent, no matter how bad they are
I could probably make this list of abuses by politicians in NY so long it breaks the scroll bar for fucks sake.
Fuck you, I was using it as an example, Ill admit it was a poor one. Sorry I’m not as elite as you I’m just a dumb fuck. Glad you are threatening to shank people now. Good job making gun owners look better by that one…
It tooks troops occupying a major city under martial law, closing the port and essentially shutting the city down, the first time. I don’t think some disagreeable yet innefective gun control laws really gets anywhere near cause for revolution. If you engage in revolution, you’re probably going to die. A significant part of the population would have to prefer facing probable death to living with the status quo before you can even start thinking about revolution. After that, you will need to turn a significant portion of the military against its political command structure before it’s anything but suicide. What I’m saying is, we’re a loong looooong looooooooooooooooooong way from anything that makes revolting a more logical choice than using the political mechanisms in place to vote better people into office. Secession would be a better option. The other thing to keep in mind was that in the 1700’s moving somewhere not under British control meant slim options and months at sea and facing a good chance at dying from disease. With transportation being what it is today and with the money most Americans have, just moving would be the most logical choice if you really hate it here so much.
^ I’m not ready to revolt against the fed, just the state of NY.
The federal election system isn’t nearly as corrupt as it is here in the great state of NY. Federally I still feel there is a chance for change through the polls. I’m afraid for this state the only way change will ever come will be through something far more drastic.
Ah, revolting against the state government. Well that’s a bit more interesting since the state doesn’t have a standing army, but I think it can be taken for granted that the Governer would declare a quick state of emergency and invite federal troops in to squash the rebellion. A bloodless coup would probably be the mechanism of choice here. But this isn’t a discussion for public.

My target audiences possess a power of perception great enough to detect the faint threads of sarcasm in what I say. I will not be shanking anyone. As a pacifist libertarian, I own no knives.
(I cut my steak by shooting it in half. You don’t want to know how I spread butter.)
The Whiskey rebellion was from 1791-1794 Joe Motherfucking foureyed was not incorrect in his statement. He clearly stated 1700s.
No need to call Washington. I’m pretty sure that the governor can declare a state of emergency and activate the militia.
Can you rent out Carpenter’s Hall?
The majority of folks in NY(They just all happen to live down state) are for gun control and this is how things work.
Just look at other states who are pro gun and attempting to pass laws blocking federal involvement in gun control.
If some sweeping gun ban came down from the federal government I wouldn’t be surprised to see some southern/midwest states flip out.
However most people in the US have a pretty decent standard of living I think it would take a lot to cross a line where people pick up arms agaisn’t the government.
It will happen at some point in time governments don’t last forever its just the way the world works but it would take a complete economic collapse to happen.
“People in the 1700’s revolted, and started a war over a tax on whiskey…”
No revolution or war was started over a tax on whiskey. The very people that conducted the actual revolution said “no you dumb fucks all governments need tax revenue and now you have representation go the fuck home” to the morons who wanted to rebel over something insignificant.
And what militia might this be?

I had to look that one up. Good reference.
OK patriots, I have work to do. I leave you to your own devices. Try not to shoot your revolution loads before it’s necessary.
