Well welfare is 4.5 billion a year and it hasn’t been increased in 18 years 3.7% of the budget. Medicaid is huuuuugggggeeee 40% of the budget. I don’t know much about it but that seems like a nice place to start and not just a 341 million dollar cut to it.

Sheldon Silver has blocked every Republican attempt to cut Medicaid for decades. Now with the Republicans out of power in the one state government branch they had left we’re pretty much guaranteed to be fucked by Medicaid.
And yes, pretty much anyone with common sense can look at what we spend in Medicaid vs other states and know without a doubt that we need MAJOR cuts in that area in this state.
Welfare might not have increased, but who do you think gets a huge slice of Medicaid? Their health concerns are taken care of, they get money from welfare, food from WIC, can still work a job as long as it pays under a certain level. Thats alot of loot for doing almost nothing.

the nysdocs has been workin withouta contract for the last 2 yrs and nys doesn want to pay us, hell patterson wants the state troopers and csea to give back the 3% raises they settled on for '09 and’10

And how can we forget all of our government paid friends who RETIRE IN NYS, then MOVE TO FLORIDA, receive their untaxed NYS retirement money IN FLORIDA, and spend it IN FLORIDA.
Huh? The sole point of medicaid is to assist low-income families and individuals. They get ALL of medicaid - not just a “huge slice”.

Looks like he wants 5 hr pre-license course prior to permit (was prior to road test before)
Heavy increse in fines for Dealer/Repair shop/inspection stations( something that should have been for a long time)
minimal cuts to staff. (we are one of the only Dept’s in NYS that make more money than we use)
