NY laws - no hood?

anyone know the NY law on driving with no hood? I’ve heard its against the law, but dont really know.

anyone have any insight?

thanks in advance

Yes, it’s illegal.

Not part of inspection. I’ll look it up in my V&T to see if its required for road use.

Hmm i can find nothing under section 375 of V&T appling to a hood. It does state that anything mounted to the hood that obstruts the view is illegal. This is an older book as my new one is in my office, i’ll check when i get there later

why do you need to drive with no hood?

it doesnt matter, if u drive a domestic u wont get messed with. now if u got a import… good effing luck. i see like 92838232 fbods cruising around with no hoods on and they never get fucked with… im growing a mullet and buying a fbod

Thanks Pauly, much appreciated!

the reason i may need to drive with no hood, is due to my cf hood that i had to custom fit to my headlight conversion…well the pins let go last weekend, and the hood is completely destroyed. im supposed to go to Scrape by the Lake with the car next weekend, and it will be almost impossible to build an entire new hood by next weekend. we just fixed the rof last night as it was dented and chipped.

I think driving with no hood, the battery must not be exposed. If you have your battery in the trunk, then you don’t have anything to worry about.

heres some pics from Street Warriorz. some look dusty due to all the dust kick up where i was parked.

the widebody is from a late 80’s early 90’s integra also. custom fit that thing on there

meh.

Holy rear bumper!

wow…while it may not be everyones cup of tea in the looks dept. the work looks to be excellent.

I kinda like it.

ya, its a damn park bench. pretty much the reason i got the spoiler…to kinda even it out

i have a lot of mixed feelings goin on rightnow. the front looks very cool though

you will get harassed.

definitely not my bag, but if i remember correctly from previous posts, you’re a DIY’er and that’s impressive.

Back bumper ruins it for me. The front looks fantastic, work looks high quality from the pics.

You did that all yourself?
If so, fuck the haters, that’s impressive  The plate totally makes it
