I’m aware of that.
This was the point.
I’m aware of that.
This was the point.
I’m sick of all this bullshit becuase we may “offend someone”. This is america, if you don’t want to be here, or if we, as proud americans, offend you, then get the fuck out
Gotcha. I misread.
And don’t come back :number1
I disagree. If you say ‘remove God from this or that’ then yes, it might cost you major votes…but if you flat out come out and say, “Hey, I personally don’t believe in a God but I won’t remove it from the money, schools, etc.” I don’t think it would make a huge difference in votes.
More and more people are anti-religion. Hell, there are issues in my religion (Christianity - denomination is pentecostal which is very similar to baptist) but I’ve always said and will say again…believing in a higher being (in my case Jesus) is more about faith than it is about rules, etc. (religion). Faith is a feeling, a relationship so to speak with God. Religion is tangible. It’s something we see, do, etc.
Two different things IMO. We just call it one - religion. It’s like me telling some people I’m Russian because they are too ignorant to know where or what Ukraine is.
THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT FOUNDED AS A RELIGIOUS COUNTRY IT WAS FOUNDED AS A COUNTRY WITH RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, GOD DOES NOT BELONG ANYWHERE IN ANY FUCKING PUBLIC SCHOOL, ON OUR MONEY, IN THE PLEDGE OR IN THE GOVERNMENT IF YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY IT IS BECAUSE YOU ARE A FUCKING BRAINWASHED MORON. RELIGION IS FAKE, IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN THE SUPERMAN OR THE TOOTH FAIRY YOU SHOULDN’T BELIEVE IN SOME FUCKING MADE UP MAN FROM A FICTIONAL BOOK PRODUCED THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. PEOPLE IN POWER USE RELIGION TO CONTROL YOU THROUGH FEAR, NOT BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN RELIGION THEMSELVES. FUCK.
now they should of picked a better song then justin bieber, but they made the right decision by not having god being part of any graduation, as it is standing precedent that that is unconstitutional.
You do know of the “bible belt” and how many states that is right?
A gay candidate has a better shot at being elected than a atheist. News would have a field day with a person who has “no morals” and all the extremes that can take that too, including but not limited saying that he believes in random things such as FSM.
Just being of different denomination of Christianity such as Mormon is going to be a big issue in this current election.
:lol (to slwr)
And yes, I know what the bible belt is. But you can’t honestly argue that more and more people are turning away from the church. This society, here in the US, is going down the drain. Quick. At least in my opinion. But, again, my opinion is that of a religious person…so perhaps to a non-religious person such as yourself…you don’t see it the same way I do.
Anyway…I don’t feel like getting into a 10 page thread with ya’ll. People can believe whatever they want to believe…but this principal in the news story is a freakin idiot. I will end with this:
I love how the school board of education and the principal say that the song is too adult like for these children. Yet, here are some of the lyrics to “Baby” by the Biebs:
“When I was 13, I had my first love,
There was nobody that compared to my baby
and nobody came between us or could ever come above
She had me going crazy, oh, I was star-struck,
she woke me up daily, don’t need no Starbucks.
She made my heart pound, it skipped a beat when I see her in the street and
at school on the playground but I really wanna see her on the weekend.
She knows she got me dazing cause she was so amazing
and now my heart is breaking but I just keep on saying…”
Really? Buncha elementary kids listening to that (music for kids in late middle school/early highschool) is more appropriate than them listening to this?
“And I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m free,
And I won’t forget the ones who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.”
Yes.
I never said that a non religious person is a “better” person. As far as I’m concerned some of the most stand up individuals I know are believers and it overall makes you a better person.
Which is exactly why an atheist will have no shot at an oval office.
If you think religion is being forgotten you just need to move further South.
The song uproar comes amid tensions. Hawkins has been called a tyrant and bully by some staffers.
The DOE reprimanded her in 2010 after teachers complained she called the school “racist” and declared: “I’m black. Your previous principal was white and Jewish. More of us are coming.”

really? this lady is a fruit basket. if you want to know my stance on this issue, look at my signature… i’m DAMN proud to be american and man enough to admit that the song in question makes me tear up still to this day… if i were the parent of a child at that school i would be more offended by her blatent racist, self entitled, “i’m better because i’m black” attitude than any patriotic fucking song the school made my kid sing… FUCK HER
/rage
She really said that? Oh boy, somebody needs a reality check.
I’m seriously mostly offended at the forced Bieber thing :rofl
I agree with slwthnu to a point. I don’t think god or religion should have any place in school or government. However I don’t think less of somebody because they choose to believe in a higher being.
Religion aside, it’s just sad that a patriotic anthem is replaced with some lame pop song. Plenty of other beautiful songs about America if you really were worried about offending people. I don’t even begin to understand why they would choose something like that.
This country wasn’t founded to get rid of god, nor was it founded solely on the basis of religious freedom. It was the belief of our forefathers that in order to ensure liberty and justice for all that our government could not be allowed to make laws pertaining to religious belief. I really love this country and have great respect for our religious past. I think christian morals had a strong impact on the creation and early success of this nation. As a non-believer the word god still has a symbolic meaning to me, especially in relation to our country.
Ten-FUCKING-Four.
I don’t want to hear about “god” or any other false being in my daily travels. I watch shows like Grimm or True Blood to get my fill of supernatural bullshit. It’s bad enough that my religious fruit loop of a mother in law currently resides in my home… she’s too dumb to think on her own, so she relies on her church/cult to tell her what “god” wants her to do. Wake the fuck up!
Pinocchio bless the USA.
the actual issue aside, not believing in god and preaching your belief or lack there of towards other people is just as bad as “believers” forcing their bullshit down your throat.
That aside, I agree with you that it should no longer have its place in a pledge or on our money given this country is made up of so many diverse cultures, you can say what you want about what this country was founded on, who “real” american are etc, but it doesnt matter, the flood gates were opened and theres no turning back this country is made up of so many different people and backgrounds
Totally agree with slwrthnu.
Look at Yankee Stadium, in the heart of the most liberal city in the country, they play God Bless America every 7th inning stretch. You know why? Because they want to. They’re a private organization. If you don’t like it, don’t buy tickets. School on the other hand, you don’t really get the option.
This. The term manifest destiny is a pefect example of religious propaganda dreamed up by a new paper to justify crimes against the native American indian and take his land. Because it was preordained by god. Religion was also used to justify slavery…
Some of the founding fathers were not Christians so it always amazes me people think this country was founded on God.:dunno
“Lighthouses are more useful than Churches”
Benjamin Franklin
“This would be the best of all possible words if there was no religion in it”
John Adams
“Christianity is the most perverted system ever shone on a man”
Thomas Jefferson
Religion is the real deal, but all the other beliefs from the Bronze age we know to be foolish…right?
The world was flat
constellations where celestial beings
spitting on wounds healed them
Sea monsters were believed to be hazards
If you look at the bio for Jesus, its a lot like other religions that were around over 500 to a thousand years before Christianity.
Hindu God Krishna 1000 years before christ
Carpenter
born of a virgin
baptized in a river
Persian god Mithra 600 years before christ
born December 25th
performed miracles
resurrected on the 3rd day
known as the lamb, the way, the truth, the light, the savior, the messiah ect…
Horus Written in 1280 BC the Egyptian book of the dead
describes a God Horus:
Horus is the son of the God Osiris
Born to a virgin mother.
he was baptized in a river by Anup the baptizer
who was later behead - John the baptist
Like Jesus, Horus tempted while alone in the desert
Healed the sick
Gave sight to the blind
he casted out demons
Walked on water
He raised Asar from the dead.
btw “Asar” translates to “Lazarus”
he had 12 disciples
he was also crucified
after 3 days two women announced
“Horus, The savior of humanity has been resurrected”
So whoever wrote the bible was a plagiarist.
My point is if the founding fathers knew Church and state should never mix, than I say we damn well keep it that way.
These people have more faith than anyone here & look how twisted they have become because of it.:Idiots
