im all about getting an e46, they are classy, timeless, i think the perfect car, it excels in basically every category. i used to work at holtz in rochester. i have had these cars all apart and the engineering is just spot on. i cant say enough about a well maintained e46 /end preach

not sure what you know about bmw’s but the last 2 numbers of the 3XX are the engine size in liters and C means 2 door, c means convertible (Cic). x means all wheel drive, the i is for fuel injection

read and learn:http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index.php?title=BMW_E46

go test drive an e46!

Take a peek at 04’ GTO’s,I watch them sell for 10-11k all day long on eBay,most of them have reasonable ~40k miles on them.

RWD,LS1,6SPD

double your price and get a s2000

Or just buy a house.

8,000 is the very most I can afford.

Seems like you are dead set on a e46. Get out there and find the right one.

Not dead set just yet, I would like to find some wrxs too.

My suggestion is a B5 A4 with the 1.8t motor. AWD for the winter and you can modify them to be decently quick for the fun aspect. Plus you cant beat the interior.

oh man what are you waiting for? that’s the hottest car for the price ever

tell you what, buy my legacy from me and I’ll buy that impreza

dubsinthebuff tends to have an all-things-euro focus.

+1 on that RS. Did you see this in the description?

You are looking at a COBB Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS with 91k original chasis but with a fully built Natural Aspirated “COBB” 2.5L Motor (10k). This car is highly modified but looks factory in the exterior.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::Engine Modification as follows: Cobb Stage 3 power Package, Cobb Stage 1 Shortblock (06 STI block with G&E pistons rods and cranks), Cobb Equal Length Headers, Cobb Stainless Steel Catback, Cobb Cold Air Intake, Cobb Cams, ACT Pro-Street Clutch, Cobb Chormoly Flywheel, Street Perfomer Camshafts, Cobb Lightweight Main Pulley, Port and Polish stock 99 RS heads mated with a Cobb built block. (Over $10,000 in documents):::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Suspensions: KYB AGX Shocks with H&R Springs (5k Miles)

Any of you subaru guys know about how much power all that would be making?

not much, maybe 160-180

Hmmm that 2.5 RS is definitely an option

fuck, im gonna buy that subie, u better hurry the fuck up

alls u need is the mani, turbo and tmic w/piping (idk if he has fuel shit) and you will basically have an sti

but it will be faster and 2door

not to mention, not be a six-speed, and also not have the dynamically controlled center differential either.

Anyone else miss the part where the rear quarter panel is rusting. I wouldn’t.

this is not true e90 325s had 3.0s in them e46 323s had 2.5s

i know the drivetrain is different. it would still be fast.

at the crank or wheels?

I know they are 165hp at the crank stock, which is probably 120-130awhp, if that thing only makes 160-180 wheel horse with a BUILT motor that would suck, but what would you want from NA 4cyl AWD.

I wouldn’t pay over $6500 at the most for that. Unless he has receipts or you know what a stock one feels like ALOT of people claim built motors when they don’t have one.

Don’t pay $7900 for a $5000 car, especially when it has a SLOW built motor.

02 WRX’s with 90k are in that price range!!!

RWD or AWD is fun when it has power.

96-98 cobra, best mustangs for under 10k, not as nice riding as a BMW but MUCH FUNNER.

04 GTO>F-BOD, just as fast, just as ugly but 10x more refined, awesome interior and ride.

04 CTS-V(ZO6 MOTOR!!!)

Ooooo

I love these threads. Everyone just picks their favorite car, or what they’d drive.

I want to choke you for saying “funner” and for thinking that a reliable daily driveable example of any of those can be had for $8k or less with less than 80k miles, except maaaaybe for the cobra. But for a DD he’d be better off getting a new cleaner non-cobra GT for the money.
