OK so I found a couple of cobras in that price range with pretty low miles that don’t look too bad, if you want a 15 year old car for a DD.
In this case I would.

lease a nicer car :gotme:
e90 /= e46 and 323 was only offered in 99/00, you state the exception not the rule.
sure subies and what not are nice, but for about the same price you can have luxury and performance.
Agreed, He’ll say the subie is too juvenile and too unrefined within 3 months guaranteed, and we’ll be doing this thread all over again.
lol, he wont know what he is missing on if he doesnt go drive one and
experience
sorry, i couldnt resist
Agreed:
Will and I actually just had this discussion about Subarus… too kidish lol.
I would never DD an STI either.
Mustangs…meh.
But to be honest with everyone, I’m falling in love with BMWs…which, for better or worst…may be what I go for if I can find a CLEAN, CHEAP, e46 semi-local.
I don’t want a built car, I have no need for a lot of power or speed, this is a DD, not a track whore. Plus, if it’s been built, it’s been beat. No questions asked, that’s why people BUILD engines to USE them.
Everyone on here raves about 20year old honda’s, but an 11year old cobra isn’t reliable or something?, my car is INSANELY reliable, and why does a GT make a better DD than a cobra, SAME CHASSIS, but with improvements. If the price is the same what makes it that you shouldn’t DD a cobra? Obviously the cobra will hold less value if driven through the winter, than if not, but it will hold more value than a GT driven through the winter.
there is nothing in an 04 GT that makes it more reliable than a 96 cobra.
everyone else is suggesting 10 year old BMW’s, so just follow the crowd.
if you do follow the crowd look into an e36 m3 over a e46 323.
atta boy, check out those links i posted earlier from cars.com
sign up on e46f and start reading.
e36 are nice, but to quote Will, “they look dated”
I agree.
Right dont buy a modded one, and who cares where it comes from, I’ll fly down with ya and go get it HaHa
8 years, and I didn’t mean to call your baby ugly.
And I’ve never humped a 20 year old Honda.
BMW just continue to get more sexy with age…
but like any car that’s getting old, you have to love it for what it is, not what you think it should be or you’ll always hate it.
another fun fact, E36 parts are very cheap!!!
I got an LSD rear end with a desirable gear ratio for $350. If I had an E46 it would be like $1500.
look at this old bavaria, it’s just bad ass…
Realistically speaking…for say…under $9,000:
What am I going to find in a e36 or e46?
(Mileage, Condition, ect)
now you are getting lazy, lol
under 9k you will find 100k+ miles
haha, i just went through 20 pages of FS posts on bimmersforum and e46f and found that I cannot afford a M3 or anything nice lol.
Yes, theres that nice silver on black one for sale on here.
did you ever look at these? those prices mean there is room to haggle, ebay there is not
under $9k gets you a nice E36 328i, is. Possibly a very beat E46 323.
Maybe it’s just me, but mileage scares me away from those. 130k sounds like ALOT.
