NYSpeed Track Day #1 - Friday June 15th, 2007

The owners of the track have probably shot themselves in the foot by allowing people to run there before they got the zoning ordinance passed. Now they’ve made enough noise to piss people off enough to get organized. Their chances of actually getting the zoning changed passed now are a whole lot less.

And to play devils advocate, how many of you would like a race track within hearing distance of your house?

Jeremy, your opinion doesn’t count. We all know if they’d let you build a house in the infield of Nelson you’d be happy to live there.

I really doubt the dunnville airport sees a whole lot of airplane traffic, and even when it does it’s probably little cessna’s that are out of earshot within a minute or so. I’ve been within feet of a lake ship while it was underway, and they make very little noise, especially at the speed the run through the welland canal at.

I wouldnt care, I have a GM Research Facility behind my house that makes all kind of crazy noise during the day. As long as it doesnt go on at night I dont care. 8am-9pm are fine hours.

You are asking the wrong crowd…

…try either land fill or heavy industry.

Hey Zong, I just realized, we’re famous!

When I looked through the site I didn’t see any day where the noise started before 8:30 on a weekday. To me, that’s completely acceptable. It’s a business and some business’ make more noise than others.

I didn’t notice any weekend dates where they started super early in the morning, but I could be wrong about that.

I came across this while trying to figure out who was linking my videos on youtube…

Looks like the locals aren’t too happy with the Dunnville roadcourse…
Sooo retarded. Dunville wants to build sound barriers, but the zoning won’t let them. Meanwhile stupid ignorant people bitch

Well folks, if you LET THEM BUILD THE SOUND BARRIER, you wouldn’t have as many problems now would you. :ham:
How come you video is labeled time attack?
:word:, we SPECIFICALLY told you guys last year that “timed” events were not allowed at the track when we were there those two times, and to not do that stuff. :meh:

The only one of those I know about in this area is Calspan, and if that’s the case you’re right next to an international airport serving commercial flights. That’s the right place to build a track. You can’t complain much about car noise when a 747 in full throttle takeoff is shaking the commemorative plates off your wall.

I live south of Rochester, they bought the building 5 years ago? And proceded to expand drastically and now employ 300+ people here. It’s where that large concentration of EV1’s was based, and where they do their hydrogen research. I live in a VERY quiet town and it doesnt bother me during the day, it’s daytime, there is noise, it happens.

truth.

Not at all.

Actually, the site that was posted is just one of those BS blogs that don’t matter much. The “120 people” who “object to the Autodrome” are much less than those that approve of it. In fact, the person who started the whole initiative is a lawyer who doesn’t even live within ear-shot of the track… seriously, their house is so friggin’ far away: on the other side of the friggin’ forest AND a hill. :bloated:

Anyone who has driven to any of the track days we’ve held has seen the many signs in people’s yards that say “I support Dunville Autodrome and Progress.”

There will always be someone that bitches. The legal term is NIMBY: Not In My Back Yard. “Oh, It think that’s a great idea! Just not in my back yard…”

So to the blogger: Keep bitching. Go Ahead. It’s gotten you real far since 2004, lol :2fingers:

TRUTH. Matter of fact, more than have the houses right across the road from the place have those signs.

that’s the plan… this will be a fun week since i’m at the glen again on monday / tuesday of that week also.

So, looks like I’ll be at the USGP instead. Just realized the dates coincide.

I told my boss I’m taking a 1/2 day the 15th, so now I’m just waiting to see what the convoy plans are.
