I was looking at the Greddy turbo kit for the ka24de and it was noted that that the application was for 96-98 s14’s. I think that it’ll most likely work on an OBD-II but i’m not too sure which mine is :oops: . How hard would it be to convert if I have to?
sorry we dont speak honda here
the ka24de never changed much from 91-98…
all of your intercooler piping will be wrong as the kit is made for an S14. It is cheaper and better to piece together your own kit as the greddy kit is ALOT of money for the power you get.
He has a '95 S14. He wanted to know if his car was OBDI or II. He seemed to think there was a difference between the 95 and 96, but I have never heard of anything. And I know nothing about this OBD crap.
isnt that to do with Honda ECUs ? I might be way off but that is the only thing some honda guys talk about sometimes
ah sweet, thx a lot!
You guys make me laugh… OBD is not a honda only deal. Just like the CAN system now isn’t just a honda thing.
Dont mind Scott (Typhoon) hes a little crazy. LOL
OBDII is just when they standardized (sp?) on board diagnostics on 1996 to present vehicles, meaning they have to be all the same plug in ports and have to be mounted within a certain difference from the center of the vehicle. (We just learned about this in school last week)
Yeah, OBD I was when everyone had there own freaking port to choose where hook in (Nissan’s system was called Consultant) and then OBDII came out and the standarized it had to be under the steering wheel area and have a certain port with certain pins… (and then nissan made the Consultant II)
… It’s just a diagnosis port anyway, what would you be doing with it?
I was told that the greddy turbo kit was only applicable to 96-98 s14’s. . . was wondering why my 95 was left out :?
OBDI is the standard ECU language for almost all cars 95 and earlier. OBDII = all cars ECU’s 95/96 +
OBDII = evil
Thats why 1g talon guys are laughing at 2g talon guys trying to log knock (they can’t)
Hrm, stilld doesn’t explain why the 95 models were left out. … typo mebbe?
NO, it is not a typo.
95 is OBD1, 96+ is OBD2. From an instal standpoint everything should be the same, Minus a few emission pieces, but the electronics and everything else will be different and that is what you will have to figure out.

I phoned autodream and asked them if my car was OBD-II. . . they said yes. Mebbe I’ll just e-mail Greddy and ask them directly?
OBDII = evil

Its true of honda stuff too actually. Which is why I chose a car with OBDI when building my race car. The OBDII stuff is far to concerned with emissions, it actually ends up limiting power.
ODB!!
OBD!!!
