Obtaining a pistol permit in erie county

Thinking about it…

How hard is it? my record is 100% clean… As a new home owner, i would just be locking it in a safe in the bedroom for the what if situations, and occasionally taking it to the range.

Any place where i can take some classes etc?

IBdevershootsupingram

man i walked into gander mtn 2 different times and walked out 15 min later with a pistol each time…

o how i love virginia gun laws

Or lack of them…

extremely, extremely tough. The worst place in the nation to try and obtain one. And you’re going to be waiting around a year or more. Plus you need a damn good reason to have one, not to mention the 5 references from the town you live in, that aren’t relatives and you’ve known FOREVER.

EDIT- Nevermind, I was thinking CCW. Sorry, carry on.

you know O&A said it best. Tougher gun laws do not keep guns of the street. Instead they keep them from the hands of people trying to deffend themselves and their homes. the law obiding sitizen types.

No good locked in your safe though if one of those ‘what if’ situations.Side of bed with safety on or not much reason to have one.Buy a shotgun instead.

8 shell hell lol. A shotgun is a much better option for home defense.

You’ll want to get your gun permit class done and over with first, so go to the Buffalo Gun Club on Harlem Rd. They have classes a couple times a week. You need 4 non family references, (if you live in Cheektowaga, they MUST be from Cheektowaga). You have to interview with a detective in your towns police district. It will take about 6-8 months to hear from them once you complete the massive amounts of paperwork they require.

I’m in the final stages of this, but one of my references moved out of Cheektowaga so I have to find another one and resubmit it.

the permit class was easy
the background check is like $105

all the running around you have to do is kind of a pain in the ass though

Jesus $105 back ground check…

another reason why i love Va…the check was only $15

wait iamjeff and bsp tc are diff people?

I took the course and have everything filled out with 4 G.I. references, the only problem is I don’t really talk to the people anymore due to being back at GM my schedule is different from theirs.I was kind of afraid of submitting it and one of them saying "oh,I don’t really know him that well"Guess I’ll have to start hanging back out at the Gun club on weekends

  1. you take the class, do it at buffalo gun center.

  2. fill out paper work, and $100 and take it to erie county court office.
3)FInger prints and pictures are another 20 or so depending on town/where you live.
4)forget about it and wait. will take about 3 months for them to check your references, and then you meet with a cop in whatever town etc. person does it for your area.
    5)wait longer
6)after 8 months you will get a letter stating you accepted/declined/

  3. go buy your gun, they won’t let you leave with it, they will just give you a receipt that you take the paper work back to the pistol office and then they send you your card in the mail. Once you receive the card you can go back and pick up the gun you paid for 4 weeks earlier. You can also put a friends/family members gun on your lisence if your not going to buy one…

expect to spend about 5-600 with paper work and decent gun. I did this then moved out of the state 3 months later;(

It’s much easier to survive a bullet wound than a shotgun wound, which is good for you whether you fire or not. An intruder will definitely shit his pants if he sees one pointed at him and if you decide to pull the trigger, much less chance of a lawsuit because one shot is all you need to kill him. If you fire a pistol more than once into him…that’s when the legal issues can get hairy whether you kill him or not.

12 guage, double slug round followed a very heavy shot round.

by the time I get everything done I will probably be out of the sate. I will just wait.

filled out my paperwork, mailed my stuff in, 3 weeks later had the permit my H+K. Move to Allegany county and make your life easy

I waited 17 months in Niagara County for a concealed carry. When I was in the judges chambers and the judge was revieveing my paperwork, he freaked out on the pistol permit investigator and said that this will be the last person that has to wait this long ever again.

I finished my class a few weeks ago…

I’m trying to find 4 people in Erie county that might like me enough to
use as a reference.
