she pretty much stopped growing, about 8-9 months old now and 45lbs. She still acts like she has ADHD lol.

Never thought id post in this thread, but I found a dog i wanted. Couldnt get one from a breader for a couple years. Went to the SPCA, and as im leaving dissapointed they walk out this big beautiful cuddly bastard!
His names Hank and he’s a 6-8 month old Leonberger!! And its the greatest effing dog ever.

A Leonberger-SWEET!!! Surprised that someone who spent up for that breed took it to a shelter.
Yeah - I couldnt believe it either. They said he was turned in as a stray, but think the people were lying, and he just got bigger then they expected. Hes fully housebroken (i work 8hrs a day). hes trained in the basic commands…and loves car rides. So someone spent not only TONS of money on the dog, but training as well.
Hes so fluffy! and soft, and cuddly. only "bad’ parts are he needs to be brushed 2x a day, and vacuumed once. plus he needs to be socialized a bit. I got damn lucky though.
My Newf is shedding like crazy now. It’s the time of year for it. Get yourself a good undercoat rake and it will greatly reduce the number of times you have to comb him. I seriously think people only look at the pics of dogs when they are puppies and think “Nah, this dog that grows to 130lbs will stay small for me.” I see people putting big dogs up for adoption saying that it got “too big” for them as if it was a surprise. Once you have a big dog you will never have anything but
