Their +/- on the season is better than all the teams they’re fighting for playoffs with (except Philly), they’re 5th in the league in both PP and PK, goaltending has been good overall, but they’re in 10th. Luckily they still have 2 games in hand on Carolina and the rest of the conference is pretty much a log jam 5-10.
Their biggest problem is scoring goals consistently when they need to. Remind you of last year at all? They’re either winning 8-1, or losing 5-2.
Goes without saying, but it seems like a loss tonight is a guarantee they’re missing the playoffs again.
Reading the initial quote i was not thinking a MAGIC eight ball…haha but moboost4u quickly cleared up my drug clouded mind:banghead:
I honestly cant even say i feel a win. i’m too nervous, i wont know until i see what team shows up tonight. There really are two seperate sabres teams this year…one that knows how to win and do it well and one that looks like uncoached retards just runnin around in their own zone all night.
Are you serious? You say coaching isn’t the problem, then point out how other coaches have done something about their stars when they aren’t play up to their potential.
The ultimate irony was the coach that you pointed out is the one I said I’d like to see coaching the Sabres.
Say what you want about Ruff but the problem here is not just simply “coaching.”
At the end of the day you have a team full of affordable second class players who would have no place but third and fourth lines with any other decent team in this league. They are either has beens or never will bes. You cant expect many coaches to make water out of wine in any league (especially one as tight as the NHL). It happens, but not often.
The problem here is clearly with management and their development/acquisition philosophy.
Easy equation in the modern era… Big money spent = Playoff birth. You have your exceptions but were just a team full of home bread players who wont become superstars no matter where they go.
^ I think you’re just trying to prove you can suck in every subforum.
Edit: that was for mcboost
Ruff only calls out a couple guys. Not worth debating, because I’m officially done with the guy. And the more people I talk to that know hockey the more I see agreeing with me.
